A delegation from Syrian opposition is reportedly in talks with US officials over the targets they want to attack to weaken the Syrian government and the arms they want America to provide to do it. A “Libya lite” operation in Syria may be imminent

The sooner Assad dies, the better. I support basic human rights and think the mass slaughter by this bullshit leftist/islamofascist must stop now.

Send in the drones!

what makes this power mad dictator a leftist OR islamo..... OR fascist ?
I would like to know why, after 60 years of arabs killing arabs -
totaling 11,000,000 -
why aren't the region's arab neighbors stepping in to stop this maniac ?

The way I heard it... The US control of the Gulf in the 1980-90s was the only reason that there wasn't more conflict. But in the case of Rulers... take Saudi Arabia, they have a guard to protect the Rulers from the People. The Rulers are afraid of the people. And it follows in my mind that they can't risk sending forces far from the palace. The forces have to remain near the Royals.

Now if you ask me about Anwar Sadat, or Hosni Mubarak, I can only guess that they Ruled by force.

Syria and Lebanon were never seen as strong armies or forces in the region.

Iran and Iraq seem stronger and of course the US backed Sadam Hussein with Weapons. We don't know how Isreal got Nukes, but they have been seen as strong since the '7 Day War' (I guess?), and the US backed them with weapons, loans, grants). Isreal likes conflict among the neighbors (at least the state of Isreal).

You're not sure how Israel got nukes?

Research the guy yourself. It's self-evident.

Their neighbors are cowards, except for Israel, of course. And if they stepped in, the region is so insane they'd be be attacked.

Ok, so if you ever see a loved one about to be shot in the face and a cop came by, be sure to stop the cop from shooting the would-be murderer.

I mean, what are you going to do, give up your phony moral high ground?

[-] 1 points by MattLHolck (16833) from San Diego, CA 12 years ago

the US has no moral right over the use of weapons
