Celebrities like Justin Beiber, and other corporate "artists" should not be allowed to co-opt this movement to sell their wares.

Is Justin Beiber trying to co-opt this movement? How can he do that?

I saw someone claim he is writing a song about OWS. But is that really "co-opting" the movement?

If he is writing a song about OWS, it says something different.

It says he and his handlers just see this as a "fad" for young people, and they just want to capitalize on it to make some quick money before it fades away into oblivion.

The last thing this movement needs is more very young people who are completely ignorant of how the world and civic society works.

I agree 100%. This movement will be overrun by "supporters" with their own personal agenda.

For millions of years celebrities did not exists, because for millions of years there was no television. Why do people give others power for being on TV? Makes no sense to me.
