Forum Post: No Mortgage Payment in December.

If every single person with a mortgage didn't pay their December payment in protest, the banks would definitely feel it. Missing one payment wont hurt anyone's credit rating and would give a lot of people some financial relief just in time for Christmas. It would also show the banks the financial impact of a mortgage protes.

Missing one payment on a mortgage will definitely make your credit score tank. Do not listen to this guy.

This is bad advice. The banks will be glad to charge interest and penalties for late payments. Also remember the money you got to buy your home did not come from the bank. It came from the small saving accounts held by most Americans. If you close the banks or default on loans you destroy the savings and retirement plans of everyone. Think before you react there is a way to correct the problem.

You are crazy. Not paying your mortgage even for a month WILL AFFECT your credit rating.

You obviously don't own any property or have a mortgage yourself.

Wrong!! To become eligible for Making Homes Affordable with BofA I HAD to be 3 months delinquent in payments. At the time I was current, never missed a payment in my life and owned homes since 1973. But you have to sacrifice your credit for them to even talk to you, so now I'm delinquent and they still are pissing me about.

Yeah - keep it up and lose your house. Great idea. Then where will you live? Where will your family live? And "financial relief" just in time for Christmas for WHAT? So you can spend your money on the products big-box corporations are selling, thus support, the big-box corporations you are trying to fight?

God damnit take a second to think through your stupid idea. Next.

You have to fix the system, not scare the banks. Banks are corporations. Corporations are required to make money for their stockholders. They've discovered that they can do that better when they buy the government and write their own rules. It's legal, so why wouldn't they do it. They owe it to their stockholders. Until you remove that ability, they will continue work optimize the situation to the benefit of their stockholders. Remove their ability to buy politicians.

Missing one payment won't make any difference. The only time they freaked out, and the government paid attention to what was happening was when a huge number of Americans couldn't pay their mortgages..remember? One payment won't even affect them..it has to be a complete revolt of any type of financial support to the banks and huge corporations.
