By combining the words nippy and hippy we can form a neologism which aptly describes OWS protesters; a nippy, (pl) nippies. As a bonus, hipsters becomes nipsters.
Usage example: As nippies formed a roadblock, nipsters filled the air with thunderous drum beats.
Has anyone considered how politically incorrect this is for WWII era Japanese? those Nippies will be pissed! And the last time they were pissed wasn't pretty!
Americans have already reserved the word jap for them. But, you're right, we can add a note in the dictionary that warns that nippies is not to be confused with nippon. We can use nippon nippies to clearly indicate occupy protesters from Japan.
Wow... An entire lexicon for losers!
I almost wrote 'maybe nappies' referencing the British word for diapers because this thread is funny, it does not refer to my hair.
Instant Classic !
Ohhhhhhhh.....I thought it meant nig hippies
Nope, hippies are always white. As soon as they're black they become hip and must be called nipsters.
Nigsters?
No, African-American nipsters is used to differentiate from nipsters of caucasian descent.
What is me a nipster then? Dont unnerstan
A nippy hipster. A hipster in the cold. Someone who's hip, but freezing.
I know it can be confusing as nippy can be both an adjective and a noun. If you want to use it as a noun and combine it with a hipster to mean a freezing hippy who is a hipster, then you should use a hyphen: nippy-hipster. Note: A nippy-nipster would be a pleonasm since a nippy is already freezing.
Do nipsters drink Pabst Blue Ribbon? Or Peak Organic?
As the weather cools are we expecting a hardening of Nippies?
I believe it's part of their plan. According to various news agencies, a public masturbation session was held as a trial run a few days ago. Some believe this might become the focus of OWS as the winter sets in.
Isn't there concern about "shrinkage" down there?
