Forum Post: New currency needed - Occupation Bucks

The Federal Reserve is just a bunch of bankers to whom our Congress has given the extraordinary power of being able to pull money out their asses. It's odd that in a "free-market" where all else is competitive, this small group of people have a monopoly on the money supply. Want to hit these people where it hurts? Create an alternate economy with an alternative currency - Occupation Bucks - the buck that bucks the system. It's been tried here in Vermont, with limited success. But it appears that the good grace of popular opinion is with OWS. Create an alternate currency and take it global as a system of equal exchange among all people.
I think there's a better chance of changing the means of exchange than changing a multitude of governments who are owned by the current financial system. Money is the one thing all people have in common. The common means of exchange should be a democratic process.
