Since our representatives must be of the people, their salary must also be like the people's. The current U.S. median income is about $26,000 a year. Half of the people make less than this figure, half make more.
Let us make an amendment that fixes congress' pay to be equal to the national median income. Then Senators and Congressman will all receive a fair share of the benefit that their labor provides.
That sound great. Let's dissolve all political parties. We can really have representatives "of the people".
Like jury duty, citizens can be drafted in a pool of others to run for office.
Citizens who seek office cannot have affiliations with non-sovereign organizations, This would be detrimental to national interests.
Each one can post their ideas and views for the voting public to choose from.
This larger pool will be decreased by a primary resulting in a small pool of candidates. This small group will have their campaigns publically funded leading up to the final election.
The citizen candidate with the most votes will represent their constituents in office.
They will be bound by a strict code of conduct so curruption cannot exist. It will be limited to one term that cannot lead to future opportunities with other entities such as defense contractors, health ins companies, etc.
Of your suggestions to modify government, which is most important?
