The only way the people of America will ever regain their birthright is revolt against the corporate / government incestual relationship that has robbed them of their freedom and prosperity. The United States was founded to empower the people, to limit government, and the corruption of central banking and corporations. Thomas Jefferson knew the two biggest threats to freedom were central banking and corporations. What the country needs is a new American revolution against corporate corruption and corporate ownership of government. The government owes its allegiance to the people not the corporations.

"Government is instituted for the common good; for the protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness of the people; and not for the profit, honor, or private interest of any one man, family, or class of men; therefore, the people alone have an incontestible, unalienable, and indefeasible right to institute government; and to reform, alter, or totally change the same, when their protection, safety, prosperity, and happiness require it." John Adams 1776

That seems to be one of the (if not the) central issue. The thing we're trying to figure out is how to fix things. Like what checks and balances do we put in place. We need clearly defined goals that are realistic and achievable.

total separation of the state and financial institutions and industry, no lobbying and stop large campaign contributions. we've had a total separation of church and state for some time now, this should be the next step.

"we've had a total separation of church and state for some time now". Take a look at a dollar bill. Lol, it's not as separate as you seem to think.

I do think we need to keep a separation like you're saying... but it's far easier said than done. There's too much power/money to be had. I think we need some kind of check and balance where we get common people in office without the popularity contests known as elections. I advocate trialing a random lottery for house seats (start in one state and see how it works).

Agreed! This should be the central issue.
