The Occupy Wall Street movement needs to change the nomenclature of its participants from General Assembly (GA) to “99% People’s Congress (of NYC etc)”. In the US context, “99% People’s Congress” offers twin benefits to people’s gatherings: it provides them a legitimacy of people’s authority; and it offers this movement a ready-made parallel political-power structure. These advantages cannot be denied to people in a country where the sovereignty lies with the people and where the governance is carried on “by the people, of the people and for the people”. After all, why should any longer the people in such a country and in the age of internet govern themselves through “middlemen” (who are dubbed their representatives in a medieval fashion) and not directly? Let the truth speak for itself: the so-called representatives do not represent the interest of the people who elected them; else there was no need or possibility of the Occupy Wall Street movement. In the modern age of instant communication by internet, why should people be forced by the political establishment to run a government of the people, by the people and for the people through “middlemen” only who represent the interest of corporate greed, rather than the interest of the people who elected them?
Ah I don't know bout that.. What so the 1% aren't allowed there? Kinda goes against the constitution.
Doesn't sound all that great to me either.
Getting a little far down the line there too buddy
