It looks like it could be the beginning of the end for Hezbollah. http://www.yalibnan.com/2013/12/30/mp-hamadeh-saudi-3-grant-to-end-hezbollah-arms-dominance/
ending weapons dominance by supplying weapons makes no sense
Sure it does. Lebanon wants to maintain it's own military and told Hezbollah to turn over their weapons and let the military do it's job. Hezbollah refused. This came to a head when it was discovered that they had weapons in Beirut after a traffic accident that erupted into a big fight. It had been headed this direction- after the assassination of Hariri.
I think there is a misconception that all of Lebanon is down with Hezbollah and that is not the case. In fact, there is a large portion that firmly believes that Hezbollah is the problem.
It is very interesting that Saudi Arabia is supplying the money given their past and present relationship with Iran AND Iran is funding Hezbollah.
I hope so. No negotiation, no compromise. Certain groups only understand the language of strength and counterviolence.
and more people will needlessly die in the process because this particular group has shown that they have zero problem hiding behind innocent people.
They should adopt the US/Israeli/Saudi policy and simply blow up everything and everyone. Hiding behind no one, because more war is good.
