Here's the idea of the century (not mine but people have been talking):
Elect our own government based on the original constitution. One that is of, by and for the "people," as originally intended.
Then the "citizens government" can start peacefully negotiating with the "corporate government," until such time that power can be turned over completely to the people.
We have the technology to do this. And what a great way to wake people up!!!
No taxation without representation. It comes down to what our forefathers did. Continental Congress.
We are paying taxes without any say in the government.
You all want to fight each and every grievance with the sitting powers that be? Good luck.
In Australia, one of our newspapers sets up online polls so the people can vote on issues that local government are ignoring or attempting to whitewash. In our system, it takes X amount of votes on a petition to force the government to DO SOMETHING.
Is the law the same in the US of A?
This is from a quick google search Just 3 % approval? I believe the time is right to simply ignore the current "government". How much control do they really have?
WASHINGTON — After months of partisan gridlock, more Americans of all political stripes disapprove of the US Congress than at any point in more than two decades, a poll found Wednesday.
The Washington Post/ABC News poll found that just 14 percent of the US public approves of the job Congress is doing, less than just before elections in 1994, 2006 and 2010, which all saw the majority party lose the House.
The poll found that just three percent of Americans "strongly approve" of lawmakers' performance -- "essentially as low as possible, given the poll's margin of error of four percentage points," the Post said.
How are you planning on getting the other 99% of the country who aren't at the protest to follow this "new government"?
Please. I wasn't suggesting that the elected people start trying to run things!
It may be enough to just elect one to get some opinions heard. The more popular it becomes the more effect it can have.
"Then the "citizens government" can start peacefully negotiating with the "corporate government," until such time that power can be turned over completely to the people"
That sure suggests that they are running something to me! What would be the point of this anyway if it wasn't actually going to do anything? There a a million ways people are getting opinions heard without electing a group of people to listen to them.
Wow you're a brain child. How about a Lobbying Group? Corporations have powerful lobbyists. Why shouldn't the people?
No, no it's better to just have a bunch of disorganized people fighting 100's of grievances.
Good thing our forefathers weren't listening to you.

Let us be a positive force in the world. Let us be "For" good things and not worry so much about what we may be against! We MUST do this!! We must be of, by and for the people.
Get rid of the Senate.
No - the Senate is vital if it is used as it was originally intended. What SHOULD happen is the 17th amendment should be repealed and Senators should be elected by their state representatives as was originally designed into Article 1, Section 3 of the Constitution. one of the biggest mistakes the government did was to put the election of Senators into the hands of the people... Direct constituent representation is relegated to the house of Representatives. Senators were supposed to act as a liaison between the states and the federal government.
