There needs to be more than just chants to our marches, and other crowd participation. To that end, I did a quick re-write of the lyrics to the song 'Hoist the Colours' from Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Something we can sing in crowds and while marching. We're portrayed as thieves and beggars in asking for fairness. We should own it, and turn it upon them!
Hoist the Colors Sung to 'Hoist the Colors' from Pirates of the Caribbean.
The kings and their men stole our freedoms from us and bound us all with loans. These streets be ours and by the powers where we will we'll roam.
Yo, ho, all hands, hoist the Colors high! Heave ho, thieves and beggars, never shall we die.
Now some have died and some are alive and others were kicked from their homes -- we're locked in a cage... and the Devil to pay we owe down to our bones!
Yo, ho, haul together, hoist the Colors high. Heave ho, thieves and beggars, never shall we die.
The Call's been raised from New York to L.A.... hear it's clarion tone? A call to all, pay heed the squall it's now come to your home!
Yo, ho, haul together, hoist the Colors high... Heave ho, thieves and beggars, x3 never say we die!
The kings and their men stole our freedoms from us and bound us all with loans. These streets be ours and by the powers where we will we'll roam.
(Repeat during marches)
