I knew it! Damn Hippies!
I'm reasonably sure you have raised high this issue simply because it is ugly. You oppose the goals and aspirations of OWS.
If I'm incorrect, my apologies.
In any case - let us examine the facts.
Homelessness and drug addiction are two significant - and growing - problems in this country. The issue of prohibition itself stands as a fine example of the ways in which our legislative process has failed the American people. I've been saying for years that either we must enforce the law, or we must change the law.
Here is indisputable proof of that statement:

The tent cities provided the early participants to this movement - and the nation as a whole thanks to folks like you - [and yes, this makes you useful] - a close examination of these two issues.
The tents are coming down now. They are coming down precisely because of blood that has been shed - OWS blood, American blood - that has stained the ground at a few select sites.
The networking has begun. The message has reached the people. OWS is and will remain flexible. OWS is and will continue to grow. OWS will continue to bleed, as they have already bled. Just as the American people have bled.
We will get stronger.
We will hone our message.
The people are waking from their slumber.
The lies of the one have already begun to crack, they tremble, and one by one, soon,
they will fall.
LOL. Yeah,,, sure they will.
