i mean it sounds good but who's gonna be on the new "Monetary Authority"... likely Goldman Sachs/Citigroup/JP Morgan execs. I don't trust anyone in Congress with the power to appoint anyone to a financial oversight committee.
I understand what you're saying, but right now we have a board of governors at the Fed appointed by the President and approved by the Senate. What's worse, is these are the only people at The Fed our elected officials vote on and they make up only a fraction of the decision makers at The Fed.
I would like to see the NEED Act tweaked to at least allow the People to vote on who is on the Monetary Authority--or at least write it so these people can not go on to work at any financial firm.
