Fact from discussions with a few retired military: there are well funded, well hidden Militias within the US consisting of many who are either currently or formerly in the military who are also professionally trained. Earlier I was poking around youtube looking at old Hurricane Katrina Footage, Katrina Looting and ran across this.
Now, check out the professional gear this guy is wearing and his message. To own the gear (not to mention what is likely in their local armory) takes the 'big bucks' so I don't think the guys who shared this info. with me were lying.
Here he explains under what circumstances you might see them literally 'come out of the woodwork'

LOL. forgot to add that one of the retired military guys said there's probably 2 or 3 military guys with the right equipment per one to three blocks throughout the US who are prepared for any mayhem that breaks out.
Now, that meshes with a neighborhood I lived in about 15 years ago because we had a neighbor who was a vet who had a shocking collection of shotguns and other serious weapons in his house!
Whats worse, the militias and fanatics, or cops acting exactly the same under the guise of protecting the public? violence begets violence. secrecy begets secrecy. have you learned nothing from your war on drugs? just like we are doing, I suggest you start learning to use those ever decreasing social skills. The cheesy spy novel bs is old and tiresome.
