I think occupywallst.org should continue to allow people to express their ideas but should be more selective in the messages posted on the home page. I respect different perspectives and worldviews. It helps people think about their positions and beliefs.
Although, I feel certain positions can undermine the very real, legitimate calls for change that can actually be achieved. It makes everyone's collective voice less credible when certain messages are conveyed without consideration of the impact on each individual voice.
If OWS were to adopt the sociacratic model fro decision making, this entire forum could reflect it's structure: -Decision Making on Policy Issues by Consent. -Double-Linking. -Organizing in Circles. -Elections by Consent
People who show disregard for this model by repeatedly posting trash could be banned. The forum has great potential of being used for the inventory of ideas as well as for motivating everyone to join in in a positive way and making everyone feel connected. It's just a matter of time to get this organised.
I look forward to seeing how this website organizes itself using those principles outlined by Kazoo55. WTG, lead by example.
I don't think bands or cultural events should be promoted on headline page, although the calendar is fine.
I agree with kazo that troll flagging and banning should be organized. We have to moderate.
