I loved your Declaration guys!
I just have one question for you. I saw someone post on Twitter--what is this #occupywallstreet about? I'm too lazy to look it up.
So that pretty much says it all. If people have to go out of their way to look it up b/c the media isn't covering it, we need to get a cohesive message that sums up the Declaration in 140 characters or less. Remember, people have short attention spans.
How would you answer the question: What is Occupy Wall Street? (in 140 characters or less, please)
Finally! The new American Revolution. You have my support
Occupy Wall Street is not exactly as it states. Occupy Wall Street is a movement to educate the other 98.3% about the facts that people who own corporations and a huge percentage of the worlds wealth are manipulating peoples lives with the improper use of money for power and selfish greed. Once a majority is educated, massive change will be forced to occur. Read ' Rule By Secrecy' by Jim Marrs and get educated.
There are other ways of spreading messages than Twitter. Facebook statuses, for instance :)
Occupy Wall Street: The rationale for separation of powers in government was that the US Founding Fathers didn't trust power concentrated in too few hands. There should be a corresponding check upon the power of concentrated wealth. http://fairelectionsnow.org/
The problem isn't media coverage. Every major media outlet has covered this at least once--NYT, WSJ, Guardian, Daily Show, etc. The problem is that no one knows what this movement is all about. There's no specific end goal to rally behind.
I guess that is what I meant when I said to sum up the movement in 140 characters. I want to spread this around to my friend more but I want to feel like it is a genuine cause that I believe most people will support. So, I'm just curious how what you guys feel the message should be.
Btw, I love and support all of you and will be standing in solidarity with you on 10/6 in DC. Thanks so much for all you've done already to get this started!
Working list of goals: https://occupywallst.org/forum/proposed-list-of-demands-please-help-editadd-so-th/
Occupy Wall Street is about taking to the streets to change the national dialogue from bank bailouts to rebuilding the nation
I like that! it is to the point, not a bunch of silly demands like I have seen elsewhere on site and stays true to what I understand was the original focus. If this movement doesn't decide on one single focus (for right now), it will be doomed. How about focusing on the perception, if not fact, that the monied interests are controlling this country through D.C. on the backs of its population.
That's definitely part of it
That's what I'd say, at least
good point. :)
