Erin Burnett has done a piece on CNN.com meant to trivialize OWS. I have written her an email (you are able to contact her through the CNN.com site) and encourage any others interested to do so also.

Here is a link to her report:

http://cnn.com/video/?/video/bestoftv/2011/10/03/erin-burnett-seriously-wall-street.cnn

Here is a link where she can be contacted: http://www.cnn.com/feedback/show/?s=erinburnettoutfront&hdln=2

Here is copy of what I emailed to her:

Good day Ms. Burnett,

I saw your piece on CNN.com covering Occupy Wall Street and I was disappointed to see you make light of a movement that is pushing to make a statement about corporate greed, local and federal government over reach and this nation’s general push in the wrong direction; a push that elevates profits over people. There are certainly individuals at Liberty Square (the corner of Liberty and Broadway) that would have been better suited to answer your questions than a random young man (known as ‘Unemployed Software Developer Dan’) that I personally think was interviewed and aired because his answers were somewhat uninformed; in an effort to trivialize what’s being done by OWS. There are certainly people at the protests because they feel that something is wrong, even if they can’t put their finger on it and they want to be part of a movement that is if nothing else making a stand and a statement; Unemployed Software Developer Dan may be one of those people. There are also people there that can speak to the culture of opulence, decadence and negligence personified by Wall Street. It’s bigger than TARP, it’s more pervasive than GM being unable to pay back their loan. There is a long standing history of big businesses putting their profits ahead of their employees and the greater economic concerns of the nation. People at Occupy Wall Street are protesting against that general attitude, that kind of irresponsibility, and a litany of other offenses against the 99%. I know this will probably never go further than the waste basket on your desktop but as all at OWS know you’ve got to speak up even if you’re sure they won’t listen. Cheers and I look forward to better reporting in the near future.

I've learned a lot about Erin Burnett. She used to work on Wall Street as a Financial Analyst for Goldman Sachs (in Corporate Finance, of course) AND she is married to a Citigroup Executive. Her hands are so, so dirty.

"I do hope it was not your personal idea to be that ignorant about the movement on wall street. One interview shown of a young man who had no direction? The emphasis on electronics, clothes, and food? Seriously?! Erin Burnett? You don't have to be a reporter to find a general feeling, and reoccurring theme within those people on wall street. You are the hand that feeds the masses lies. "

I have no idea how the US made money off the bailouts - 40% of the total is still outstanding, has not been paid back

It's interesting to note that $10 billion is just over 1% of the $700 billion that the government contributed in the bank bailouts. It puts that statistic in perspective, doesn't it?

I wrote the following to this arrogant snob: "Hey Erin, You might want to check this out: http://nycga.cc/2011/09/30/declaration-of-the-occupation-of-new-york-city/ Your smug & smirky approach is insulting and reveals more about yourself than about the guy you "interviewed" at the Occupation. Your friendship with Trump is telling and shows your true, biased mindset. You should be on Fox "News", a perfect place for your style. Yes, I know, they prefer blonds, but I think they will make an exception for you. Knocking (directly & indirectly) millions of unemployed fellow human beings is cheap and lame. Seriously! Sincerely: Laszlo S., Reno, NV." Not that she gives a damn, but one have to do what is right. Keep up the good work! L.S.

I watched this video earlier and was equally frustrated.

I sent this:

"So taxpayers made money off of the bank bailouts, something to the tune of 10 to 20 BILLION dollars? Wow. Or at least that is the reaction I feel you and your staff were hoping to illicit with your recent coverage of the Occupy Wall Street protests. There is roughly an estimated 311 million people in the US. If I did my math correctly, that's somewhere between a mere 30 to 60 dollars per person. Correct me If I am wrong.

I think that you could have more correctly stated that we were simply tossed the wealthy's spare change. Big deal. We are still pissed off, and we are still in debt, and we are still painfully under-employed. I believe the segment came off more as an incredibly biased attempt to trivialize the movement than good journalism."

Thanks for the link. I sent her a note, basically telling her that since I don't believe she's a complete fool or a vacuous moron, and usually like her, I can only assume she was being disingenuous. Any idiot can see that whether drawn by political, environmental, civil rghts, veterans, or any other issuse, the central theme of the protest is GETTING CORPORATE GREED AND INFLUENCE OUT OF OUR GOVERNMENT. Only an idiot could say they don't recognize the central message of something called, "Occupy Wall Street. " And I don't think she's an idiot. Which leaves one with the disappointing conclusion that she, like the rest, is deliberately and dishonestly spinning the story.

Whoever is running CNN is certainly allowing the 1% to control them. Slanted, biased reporting with their own agenda. You can clearly see it in her reporting, the line of questioning, the edit, the type of footage that was shot. Everything was to diminish OWC. They are making fun of their own people. They are making fun of the downtrodden American and kicking them while they are down!

I am not American, but I am pro 99%. I care for the American people and feel for their suffering. Enough of CNN. They can blackout OWC, the 99% has the power with a simple click of a button.

Blackout CNN!

What a complete snob, doesn't surprise me though after looking at her bio, her daddy was a corporate lawyer and she's engaged to a citigroup exec. Sent her a message, encourage you all to do the same.

These kind of attacks from main stream media will keep up until there is leadership in Liberty Square. Stop giving random interviews to the press. Get a person that can speak and make them the PIO (Public information officer) Get leadership in Liberty Park soon, even just for media relations.
