This is dangerous stuff CBS as I've just noticed and I'm sure countless others have begun to label OWS as anti-capitalist. They are trying to polarize the movement. Also they are aligning anonymous with anti-capitalism as well. Regulations we need thems.

...Support for the anti-capitalist protest movement was light in Asia, where the global economy is booming...

watch out for it.

They've been doing that from day one. Brainless and slanted journalism was always something we were prepared for.

oh you already covered that sorry

This is the season for the media to be rewarded billions for their loyalty; did you see how much money is available from both parties for commercial campaigns along? The population is foreclosing their homes due to lack of work and these MF politicians are profiteering amides the carnage. America where have you gone?

the media is owned by corporations. This is their attempt to discredit the movement by labeling us as communist. No doubt they're hoping they can re-ignite a new McCarthy era

Sorry guy. The origins and intents of this "movement" are there for all to see once they get over their initial infatuation and actually start to look and understand who's behind it. There will be a stampede away from it by the media, politicos, groups who initially endorsed it, and the general public. They all thought that they were looking at some regular kids with college debt, not anarchists and World Bank protestors.

They're desperate to make sure that the original "teapartiers" don't decide to join a real people's movement, now that theirs has been bought out by the republicans.

[-] 1 points by sharkfighter (7) 13 years ago

It's true their movement has certainly been bought out.

Here to making sure it doesn't happen to this OWS.

it might be all those signs saying capitalism doesn't work and a job is a right, eh?

[-] 1 points by sharkfighter (7) 13 years ago

Take a look at jewels69's post.

  1. get money out of politics
  2. a video with someone outraged about Tens of trillions of dollars are being extracted from the United States of America
  3. rigged trade
  4. rigged tax codes
  5. rigged bank jobs

None of these are saying capitalism doesn't work. They all shout that our system is corrupt, out current capitalism doesn't work. Not anti-capitalism. Our congress is bought, and we need to fix it.

reenact glass-steagall.

overturn citizens united vs fed.

take personhood away from corporations.

publicly fund campaigns.

right now we have crony capitalism, which everyone should have a problem with. this is what the original tea party was complaining about as well.

[-] 1 points by Cicero (407) 13 years ago

They have been doing this from day 1

Pay no mind to the little man behind the curtain.... this can be taken either way in responce to your post.

How is it not anti-capitalist?

[-] 2 points by sharkfighter (7) 13 years ago

It is just a polarizing statement. A lot of people relate America and Capitalism. Calling someone Anti-Capitalism is synonymous with Anti-American.

[-] 1 points by TechJunkie (3029) from Miami Beach, FL 13 years ago

It may sound polarizing but isn't it accurate? This is not a business-friendly crowd.

[-] 1 points by brochompsy (91) from New York, NY 13 years ago

Business does not mean Capitalism. Humans have been doing "business" since Moses.

[-] 1 points by TechJunkie (3029) from Miami Beach, FL 13 years ago

Okay so you, in particular, are pro-business but anti-capitalism?

[-] 1 points by brochompsy (91) from New York, NY 13 years ago

I'm pro-small business, but anti-Corporation.

but the corps are international

[-] 1 points by sharkfighter (7) 13 years ago

are you just saying that or you disagree?

America pushes Capitalism just by being the reserve currency

I've heard banks loan to a country that can payback

when that countries go bankrupt

the banks move in to take its resources
