I recently read an article on HuffPo about some protestors who weren't allowed to close their accounts because they couldn't be "protestors and customers at the same time." I can understand that carrying around signs and making a scene at a business venue could be disruptive to other customers, but be that as it may, the protestors are still customers and should be able to close their accounts.
Anyway, I was thinking it would be interesting and more productive if a mass withdrawal from big banks was organized nationwide. Say, November 4 - November 5. There should be some rules in place to make it possible, though: no signs, no noise, just open a local bank or credit union account a few days prior, then go into your major bank on the 4th or 5th and quietly transfer everything. Thoughts?
Please use a credit union because one person one share in the credit union. Also try to buy from cooperatives like ocean spray. co-ops are good because one person can not control it again one person one share, the 1% could not be that if most all companies were cooperatives, start buying, working, and banking with cooperatives and credit unions
1)Take money out of banks, yes.
2)THEN, use the internet to pressure those entities or individuals that still DO use the bank, to also terminate THEIR accounts.
The second part of the plan can cause a snowball effect.
The people who mock you, will not like this!
I'm pretty sure that the kinds of accounts closed at the banks by protesters will make no difference to the banks at all. The majority of people who have money in the banks that would make any difference are not out protesting. They are at work and supporting their families. Probably supporting a lot of the protesters too.
There already is a date set, November 5!
