Ok, so this entire 4 month long joke of a scenario is over, and we ended up basically where we were to begin with. So whats the reason for the market's gain today?
- Wall St is happy with the deal, considering the state of the deficit?
- Wall St is happy to see this bunch of clowns do SOMETHING, regardless of how pathetic it is?
- Its basically the low level traders that are reactionary fools buying in right now?
Im going with the last one. The amount of press, the CNBC "Fiscal Cliff Countdown", etc....what bunch of pr fluff. This is a shameful moment in our history. Im not old enough to know if this is how its always been, but I have a hunch this is one of the more embarrassing moments in our history.
At this point it seems like as long as there are temporary gains - they'll take them....even if the temp gains come at the expense of the major collapse lurking in the distance. Just a matter of time.
41 million in the package for Guantanamo Bay. Have to keep the torture going (is holdind someone indefinitely considered torture? Because thats what they just passed for all of US as well!!)
Prediction: No matter what happens, no matter how bad it all gets, Americans will overwhemingly (well, the 45% that actually vote anyways) will vote for the two 150+ yr old parties.
I concur with your prediction.....the only way it will change is when the people are hurt on an individual level....when it affects their lives to such an extent they won't be able to ignore it. Snap them out of their reality TV stupor...and they'll wonder how the hell this country was taken over by a duopoly 50 years ago and noone noticed.
Well I see that two people think that money for Gitmo should have been part of the deal (republican posters) or some disagree that these two parties are defunct and a joke (d or r, hard to tell).
Gotta love the internet.
None of the above.
Well, what do you expect when you have the same President, same people in charge of the House and the same people in charge of the Senate.
Did you see any change the last 4 years - don't expect to see any change the next 4 years.
