Forum Post: Making people feel safe

I walked through the park last night for the first time and I happened to be wearing a button down shirt and nice shoes, hey it's Saturday night. I was repeatedly heckled and yelled at and made to feel unsafe by protesters. I was called a cop and an undercover pig. Now I am no police officer I am a private citizen that came down to see first hand what's going on. I felt it was important to make this post.

Isn't it shocking to be treated like that by a group that says it is inclusive and welcoming to all voices and all walks of life? Except the ones who "look" like you.

You aren't the first and you won't be the last. The lack of concrete parameters creates an environment where all behavior is acceptable. And that is what turns people who believe in parameters and social moors off about this movement.

they certainly seemed to think I was a cop but I am not and it was scary. More people came over and some guy told me I should let my beard grow out longer so I would look more like one of them. I assume he meant that If I was a cop I wasn't doing a good job blending in. I am relieved I did not bring my 2 year old nephew with me.

But they'll tell you that they LOVE and "support" the cops and that they just cannot understand why the police are being so brutal to them when they disobey them. I believe Al Sharpton was telling people to "bring their kids/families" down the other day to see justice in action.
