Much like the protests of the 1960s against the Viet Nam war, these new Wall Street protests are grass roots efforts by people with a conscience. People want to express their discontent with their current situation, the situation of their communities, states and the nation. I do not know what they are all saying, but suffice it to say that I am fed up with the Close Minded Politics of Washington, and the GREED of Wall Street.
I have had my job outsourced at least 2 times, and been laid off at least 4 times in my 34 year career in Computers. I thought back at the end of the 1970s that Computers would be lucrative, and I would be better off than my parents at the end of my career. That has not been true. My parents never saw their home devalue. I have seen my devalue 2 times, and not by a few dollars but by more than a hundred thousand dollars each time.
I am thankful that I managed to find work each time, and feel for the homeless, underemployed and unemployed. An ex-military person myself, I also relate to the soldiers of today, coming home to no jobs, and fighting wars that are costing us so many Wonderful American Lives. It hurts to think about it. Each time a President said 'we are going into this country to get the bad guys', I cringe for the thought of the lives we would loose, and the suffering and disabilities that were bound to occur.
The AMERICAN Tax system needs an overhaul, and yes, I am a 99%er. Why does someone making millions a year pay less taxes than you or me (assuming you are a 99er too)? We need a miracle in our Legislative Branch of Government, and someone that can facilitate TEAMWORK (what a concept) in the running of our country.
We need to get back to basics in this country. We need to harvest raw materials, use those raw materials to make products that feed the AMERICAN Manufacturers. We need to stop giving away our technologies to other countries, and our jobs too. There will be no AMERICA if Wall Street makes every job overseas, there will only be poor and starving among filthy rich. Maybe this is what the Wall Street protests are about. What do you think?
I started a web site for the probability that I could loose my job yet again. There is a Blog there where you may comment on the state of the economy, the Occupy Wall Street movement, or ask for more categories. The site is intended to promote Made In America products and services and other web sites that promote Made In America Products. There is a store where you can sell your made in america products. I have made nothing on this, and don't expect to get more than a share to run the store. Please visit: http://made-in-america.webs.com/apps/blog/
Thanks, Made In America
Hey guy I like your website. I had the same notion in the past and even thought of doing something similar. I've also pleaded with the 1% to give us a store as big and common as Walmart where I can be assured I'm buying American even if it means paying more. Let me know if you want me to help you find some American products or programming advice etc.
Funny I've been outsourced 2.5 times also and work on computers. I obviously started www.theOnlineGovernment.org (and others)
A prime example is the out sourced a San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge that was designed and built in China. Where Chinese nonUnion steel workers make barely $12 an hour. http://www.nytimes.com/2011/06/26/business/global/26bridge.html?pagewanted=all That 7.2 billion all was sent to China and NOT to the USA ecomomy. USA steel workers - USA engineers - USA Steel fabrication to USA homes and livelyhoods... http://prestowitz.foreignpolicy.com/posts/2011/06/27/cheap_is_expensive It is a huge 7.2 billion sink hole is sent to China and benifit thier economy... not ours
What I can not comprehend is why not more people are upset with this?
Yeah someone posted on here - GE is even giving weapons deals to China. Maybe our drones can be fully China-programmed. Sounds smart. Google search 'Chinese spies in America' and you'll find out about the Corporate espionage and modern day unspoken cold war
