For those arguing for a living wage...have you thought of how it would work? (if you are going to say if you tax all the rich people 90% you can pay everyone 500k, you can stop now because thats just ridiculous)
what is fair for a living wage? 20k/yr? 30k/yr? 50k/yr? include expected costs of benefits/retirment if you think that should be included. Should there be a differential between jobs that are easy/vs hard, skilled/vs unskilled, high/low barrier to entry?
Whats fair for (ill break it down for you by training) the following jobs?.. include benefits/healthcare if you think it should be included.. consider if it is realistic (ie: if you pay a fruit picker 50k/yr + benefits rather than 5k/season, your cost of fruit will go up 10x in price.. people will starve unless all salaries go up 10x)
no education necessary: Homeless person recycling cans Janitor Seasonal field worker(picks fruits/veggies) musician (can get all the way to grad school obv., but education isnt really relevant to this career)
Certificate program, maybe HS grad, possibly just apprenticship: Home healh aide (ie: helps old/infirmed cook/clean/wash/shop) Garage Mechanic customer service rep
high school grad, associate or bach degree bank teller nurse secretary mid level management at small company professional baseball player - all star professional baseball player minor league
graduate degree/post graduate training doctor lawyer scientist/researcher CEO of fortune 50 company
Give everyone 10k per year But end ALL government programs All of them....no SS no medicare no mortgage deduction nothing Flat tax of 15% for all income and for corporations and individuals Tax form is one page
