Forum Post: Live Feed Moderators Getting Too Big For Their Britches

I have been watching the live feed via global revolution for the past three days and I must say that I am very saddened by what I see. While I realize the moderators are needed to keep people out who may want to spread the message of hate, violence or who wish to spam, it is obvious that the moderators have let the power get to their head and they are acting no better than the people who they are trying to fight. You complain about media censorship yet every five minutes your moderators are either reprimanding supporters like they are little children because they have used the bold or caps option or freezing the chat to bark orders; that is extremely petty and ridiculous. It makes the movement look like a bunch of power mongering freaks who want to control the supporters. A lot of the people on the chat have sent supplies, donations or plan to. Also, the media IS watching and they are following everything that is going on in that chat. It makes the cause look really bad. Moderators are good, but not when they take the power they have over others to make themselves feel special, it makes them no different than the 1%!! I was really behind this cause and I have the means to really help out, but after what I have seen going on with the chat, if these moderators are representing the movement, then I wash my hands of it. I will not be bullied by an internet moderator. Also, I have not been reprimanded yet, because I haven't used bold or caps (I'm terrified to try because I know I will get banned). How is that any different than the kids in the park being terrified to pitch a tent because the cops are watching? It's a real shame. If you don't want people using Bold or Caps in the chat, if it's THAT big of a deal, then do not allow the option in the first place. It doesn't take a genius to work out a solution one way or the other. Your moderators are not being very friendly and you are going to lose supporters in droves. Peace and friendliness works best, something the moderators could stand to have a lesson on.

They just froze it again to give a speech. They sound like bankers whom they are fighting against:

"infinitycircle: Chill Pill time..:D master0fpuppets: :) takes a few breaths infinitycircle: want to address something someone said as I returned master0fpuppets: go for it :) infinitycircle: Mods ARE regular people. Its just that we recognize the value of our community, and want what's best for it infinitycircle: trust me, we don't do this for our health...it gets stressful at times infinitycircle: but we believe so strongly about this movement that we don't want to see it hijacked by those that are not for it infinitycircle: that is why we don't discuss religion, race, ideology or parties/candidates infinitycircle: those are divisive and distract us from the protest FloridaMom: and we don't want you to be overtaken by trolls and spammers, we want you to be able to discuss things and be part of the community. infinitycircle: it's also why we instantly ban someone permanently when they advocate violence or illegal acts infinitycircle: so please work with us, and not against us...:D"

But the real problem is banning people and screaming for Bold and Caps typing. Circumventing the reason people are getting upset about the chat room. Very reminiscent of our current leaders. This is crazy.

Do as I say, not as I do.......Seems to be a repeating theme.....

I AM so into the cause, but I can't be pushed around by someone who never managed anything in their lives and now they feel like they have a spark of power. It's no different than the cop who was pushed around when he was a kid, and now that he has a badge, he pushes others around. I won't be a part of it...
