We Can Fix the U.S. Unemployment Situation

I am a capitalist AND I see a need for checks-and-balances in the economy, just like the Founding Fathers designed into our political system.

I can solve the unemployment problem and fix the U.S. economy (partially) with one simple change. Just link the top U.S. tax rate to the unemployment rate.

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone who wanted to find a job could get hired. The working class would pay less in taxes and pay less to unemployment insurance. Working people would have more disposable income.

Those Wall Street guys invest in companies that make a profit by laying off our workers and shipping the jobs overseas. Business owners/ executives get rich by reducing headcount and making their existing workers do more.

Those people can control entire elections just by artificially increasing the unemployment rate and thereby the "misery index". Do you remember the statement "It's the economy, stupid."?

Let's do something to shift the balance of power in favor of the working class:

Change the tax laws so "millionaires" pay these tax rates:

90% if our unemployment rate is 9% or above

80% if our unemployment rate is 8% to 9%

70% if our unemployment rate is 7% to 8%

60% if our unemployment rate is 6% to 7%

50% if our unemployment rate is 5% to 6%

40% if our unemployment rate is 4% to 5%

30% if our unemployment rate is below 4%

We would bring jobs back to the United States and give us all better employment oppotunities. Plus, the deficit would get smaller whether the rich pay more or whether there are more people paying taxes. Win-Win!

Notes:

  1. There are no deductions allowed for millionaires when the unemployment rate is over 4%

  2. We count EVERYONE who is unemployed, including the long-term unemployed

  3. If the rich people find loopholes to this plan, I will develop an even stricter plan

  4. We could adjust the plan to include those making less income ($500,000/ year) if we identify them as part of the problem

Pass around this info and see if the plan makes sense in the present format or if it needs revised. Then go support National politicians who will support this plan.

If you think a plan like this can't work, you will do exactly what they want you to do...Nothing! If you are a millionaire, please disregard. Think, Act, Win!
