Any replacement metaphorical limbs instead of camping?
You can try it, I think it paints you in a bad light though. The picture is going to be one of a group trying to take land that belongs to the people for their own private use. You can attempt to alter that portrait but you'll have an uphill battle all the way in terms of PR.
When did this ovement become about urban camping
Now the question have changed.
Any replacement metaphorical limbs instead of camping?
What is wrong about this idea?
In my mind, the campers are preceived to be self-inflicted victims of some unrelated forces (some say corporations, goverment, expensive tuititon costs, homelessness, etc)
This preception is only REINFORCED buy putting renewed emphasis on what is preceived as the weakness in the movement to begin with.
Fighting to keep your self-inflicted wounds open, is not going to impress many.
It's hard to distinguish a protestor from a local homeless person, in an encampment. The rules for using public space should be the same for either. Both are being thrown under the bus. Perhaps under the bridge would be more precise. Is it illegal to be homeless? Is seeing the poor hurting the rich?
If the camping thing starts up again in the Spring we're really going to have to get a handle on the shitting, raping, drug dealing, baby abandoning, panhandling, drumming, smelling bad, rat infestations, condom tossing, antisemitism, rioting, throwing bricks at cops, stealing and letting idiots talk to the media.
you're welcome
I went camping last summer and no one kicked me out? Guess I did it wrong.
