I watched the movie called Saw V, you can watch it here: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/6666746/SAW_V_[UNRATED](2008)_720p_BrRip_x264-600MB-_YIFY.
In this movie Jigsaw creates a game where if everyone cooperates together, they can all survive, but they end up competing with each other and at the end only one survives. Jigsaw made it clear at the start of the game that if they all worked together they would all survive, but inevitably they compete with each other. In the final game, they have to fill up a container with lots of blood to open a door. If they had all the members of their group, they would only have needed to give a small amount of blood each, but since there's only two left, they have to give lots of blood till one dies and the other is nearly dead.
This movie has an important lesson for us all and I think that while a lot of people here have good intentions, there are a lot of shitstirrers here, who want to start fights, hijack, bully, get everyone to agree with them, get everyone to join their particular team or label etc. I think right now the biggest shitstirrers are the Truthers from the Infowars site. The occupy movement is the last chance to bring change to America and there are certain people who want to fuck us up with their crap.
The problem that people in the West have, compared to the Arabs is that they are much more polarized and dumbed down, but polarization is a very big problem that divides the 99% into lots of smaller groups that constantly fight with each other and take the heat of the 1%. There's a reason why 1% can rule the 99%, it's because they are very cunning. The best thing to do is to only focus on the problems that affect everyone and not focus on wedge issues and problems that only affect one group. The 1% have done a very good job of getting the 99% to fight with each other.
I totally agree with you. I think one demand that we can agree upon would be the Glass Steagall Act which would take away a ton of power authority from the banks. Everyone hates their banks, that's one thing we can all agree on. The problem I think is getting people to understand and comprehend the importance of this Act. People and different groups want to jump right into their own cause without thinking about the main roots to these issues.
Divide and conquer. It's the oldest trick in the book. Even the old kings of lore knew that strategy and ironically it happens to work and will always work. People are selfish when it comes to survival. Nobody wants to be the first one whose belly swells up then dies from starvation. Self preservation..Rule of the jungle. The trick is to get enough people to agree on at LEAST one strategy be it kicking the kings ass or planting the seeds of discontent in the kings guard. I prefer planting seeds because nobody really wants to eat an old king's scrawny body as a last resort to starvation. Planting seeds also employes the kings strategy of divide and conquer. Divide and conquer the police (kings guard) then keep planting seeds to topple the king through elections using the kings laws.
