Hey Everyone,
I want to thank you for making this movement so great, but I just got a call today and was offered a job. While I've been here, my mother has been networking for me and she found me a position.
Seems that is what I should have been doing all along. Some of my friends have also been networking and have also found work. Maybe there are jobs out there, but we just have to work to find them.
That said, I appreciate all the free food I have gotten these past few weeks. Obviously, government is too intertwined with business, but now that I have a good job, I think I see the light. We should work hard ourselves to get in to good positions so we can then makes changes. Let's work to get the government out of business and vice versa.
I'll be fighting to do so from the employed workforce. Let's all move out of this park and into offices. The revolution has been won!!!
EDIT
Apparently a lot of you are not happy that one of us has made it. So, I'm editing this. I wish we could all stand as one and be happy for me, but it seems that we are not as solid as we once were. I will say that those I am around tonight with in Liberty Park are very much behind me, I wish I could say the same for those of you that are only supporting us by trolling on this message board waiting to shoot down glimmers of hope.
Hi there buddy,
You sound more like a Plant than a real protester.
If you were really with us you would possibly have accepted a job, and wished us luck in our fight, without enciting us to give up . Bad Egg i would say
How did I encite you? I proposed an alternative solution that seemed to work for me. If something works, shouldn't we share it and not keep it to ourselves? Isn't that what we are made at the greedy peole for doing? Please look in the mirror.
Oh... that doesn't count as leaving the movement, I don't think.
So if everyone gets a good job offer the movement will end?
Maybe not.
But it sure will be more sharp dressed.
Good Luck! We will win...one job at a time.
Thank you!
You seem like a troll to me. You may be one of those clever cutesy pooh trolls that try to shame the unemployed and the poor by telling your little stories, but I'm not sure. It's hard to tell.
And you may be a reverse psychology troll? Are we serious? Are we so paranoid that we are turning on each other?!
I agree with some of the others. This sounds like a very subtle scam. If you read carefully, you will see it is saying that the reason people are unemployed is because they are lazy. Evidence: "Maybe there are jobs out there, but we just have to work to find them." "my mother has been networking for me and she found me a position....Seems that is what I should have been doing all along."
Whoever it is is a skilled propagandist and con artist. Evidence: poster claims to be just like you (pretends to be friend and gains your confidence), but than stabs you (that's the trick part of the con.) It's incredibly disingenuous and insincere.
This person is a prime example of what gives Corporate America a bad name.
I wonder if my college will be happy they taught me how to pull a con? I didn't even realize I was doing it. LOL.
Truth be told, I'm done dealing with the haters. You guys are just sad. The true people in the park are standing with me now. Even though its raining right now. All you other haters are just jealous and bitter.
I am happy for you that you got a job. If you are for real which I'm guessing you are trolling. But to give you the benefit of the doubt, just because you, one person, got a job, doesn't mean that we all should just drop everything and go home because the "revolution has been won." The state of the country remains the same.
Exactly.
Get a good job just means more potential resources.
It doesn't mean your fight is done.
Fake story is fake.
Re-troll Re-troll
Maine Trolling here. Wish we could ban the trolls. Especially since its pouring rain right now on my last night. Im sure Maine and that kid from Trenton are tucked in cozy in their beds. Thanks for the sacrifice guys.
I am cozy in my bed right now. I have not been convinced that this movement will not end in violent government oppression. I admire your courage and wish I and people like me could choke down our fear and join the movement. Open democracy does kind of scare me though.
Real story is real. Come up from Trenton and I'll show you the offer email I got. I'll be leaving the Park in the morning. Please get here before then. I must say, those I've spoke with here have been proud and happy. Most on the forum have been pretty nasty. Seems to me all of you are trolls.
Yo, go to Occupy Trenton. It's right in front of the State House, 140 W State Street, I believe.
Well, I work two (2) jobs (legal and property management) and own two (2) companies - and I support the movement.
Perhaps you never really joined to begin with? I am an American entrepreneur in the traditional sense; I am the 99%.
What makes you say I never joined the movement. You don't know me. You are a business man. I'm not calling you a capitalist whore, though I easily could, but I don't know you, so I won't. I ask you kindly do the same.
"businessman" - is that what you think? Perhaps I am? I do not necessarily consider myself anything other than the 99%. I find your post to be disingenuous. That is all.
I found your's to be. On that we can agree.
Just you are in heaven doesn't mean you should just stay there.
Translate: You can support both the protests and have a job. The two are not mutually exclusive.
Let's network.
This is a load of crap. A similar page was posted last night around the same time. There is an organized effort (mostly at night) to divert our attention, break our will, and shut down the movement.
We have been mislead by Reagan, Bush Sr, Clinton, Bush Jr, Obama, and nearly every other public figure. Economic growth, job creation, and actual prosperity are not necessarily a package deal. In fact, the first two are horribly misunderstood. Economic growth/loss (GDP) is little more than a measure of wealth changing hands. A transfer of currency from one party to another. The rate at which it is traded. This was up until mid ’07′ however, has never been a measure of actual prosperity. Neither has job creation. The phrase itself has been thrown around so often, and in such a generic politicali manner, that it has come to mean nothing. Of course, we need to have certain things done for the benefit of society as a whole. We need farmers, builders, manufacturers, transporters, teachers, cops, firefighters, soldiers, mechanics, sanitation workers, doctors, managers, and visionaries. Their work is vital. I’ll even go out on a limb and say that we need politicians, attorneys, bankers, investors, and entertainers. In order to keep them productive, we must provide reasonable incentives. We need to compensate each by a fair measure for their actual contributions to society. We need to provide a reasonable scale of income opportunity for every independent adult, every provider, and share responsibility for those who have a legitimate need for aid. In order to achieve and sustain this, we must also address the cost of living and the distribution of wealth. Here, we have failed miserably. The majority have already lost their home equity, their financial security, and their relative buying power. The middle class have actually lost much of their ability to make ends meet, re-pay loans, pay taxes, and support their own economy. The lower class have gone nearly bankrupt. In all, its a multi-trillion dollar loss taken over about 30 years. Millions are under the impression that we need to create more jobs simply to provide more opportunity. as if that would solve the problem. It won’t. Not by a longshot. Jobs don’t necessarily create wealth. In fact, they almost never do. For the mostpart, they only transfer wealth from one party to another. A gain here. A loss there. Appreciation in one community. Depreciation in another. In order to create net wealth, you must harvest a new resource or make more efficient use of one. Either way you must have a reliable and ethical system in place to distribute that newly created wealth in order to benefit society as a whole and prevent a lagging downside. The ‘free market’ just doesn’t cut it. Its a farce. Many of the jobs created are nothing but filler. The promises empty. Sure, unemployment reached an all-time low under Bush. GDP reached an all-time high. But those are both shallow and misleading indicators. In order to gauge actual prosperity, you must consider the economy in human terms. As of ’08′ the average American was working more hours than the previous generation with far less equity to show for it. Consumer debt, forclosure, and bankruptcy were also at all-time highs. As of ’08′, every major American city was riddled with depressed communities, neglected neighborhoods, failing infrastructures, lost revenue, and gang activity. All of this has coincided with massive economic growth and job creation. Meanwhile, the rich have been getting richer and richer and richer even after taxes. Our nation’s wealth has been concentrated. Again, this represents a multi-trillion dollar loss taken by the majority. Its an absolute deal breaker. Bottom line: With or without economic growth or job creation, you must have a system in place to prevent too much wealth from being concentrated at the top. Unfortunately, we don’t. Our economy has become nothing but a giant game of Monopoly. The richest one percent already own nearly 1/2 of all United States wealth. More than double their share before Reagan took office. Still, they want more. They absolutely will not stop. Now, our society as a whole is in serious jeapordy. Greed kills.
Abolish the wage system.
lol, Creative trolling...
It's very obvious
You are in MD? How would you know? I'm here in Liberty Park. Troll!!!!
I'm not the only member here to pick up on it.
TROLL!!!!!!
Back to ya :)
Why is this trolling? Why are you turning on me now? I'm sorry that something worked out for me.
Where did the sense of community go that we had just a few short weeks ago.
It can be perceived as that, I think, because "the revolution is won" thing can be construed as an attempt to undermine the movement. The revolution is clearly not won. NOTHING has changed, except you getting a job. Thats great and all, but it wasn't exactly the one goal of the movement.
Getting a job is not selling out. Getting a job and then deciding the whole movement is no longer necessary and should dissolve, kinda is.
Also, what about all those people who already have jobs? They can't "get a job", it's too late for that. Now they're stuck in the protest for ever. See what your mad logic has wrought?
It was the reason I was here fighting and the reason a lot of us are.
Thats true. A lot of people were and are fighting to get you a job. Now you have one. Lots still don't. Why are you no longer fighting for them?
I won't turn on you.
I'm glad you got a job.
Thank you!
It's not the reason most people are involved in this, that's why so many feel you're trolling.
If you're not, good luck to you, but there's still much to fight for.
If you're really working for a non-profit - try moving away from "mom" and making it on your salary. Come back & let us know how that goes.
ok. great you got that job. congrats! that is awesome.
but now, what is it: 'everyman for himself'? once it doesn't concern you-- it is of no concern too you?
i have a job, 3 actually. and im still here...we aren't jealous btw of ppl who have jobs. or work hard. guess you didn't get the memo...
don't worry, there are still MILLIONS unemployed...it's complex. and it's more than just about jobs btw.
please join us(a).
Decided to leave the violent communist revolutionarys huh?
So, which Wall Street business will you be working for?
Вы мусор! У вас есть дорогие матери, которая является шлюха вам занятости, а остальные из нас здесь избиения полицией! Вы больше ничего хан грязь под myfeet. Желаю вам и вашей матери гнить в аду.
The question is not who works hardest between the 53% and the 99%. Most everyone is working hard. I don't dismiss the fact that some people do mooch off the social system, but that is not the discussion. The question is how can the 99% and 53% earn fair wages in a capitalistic society?
The answer is simply this — they cannot. In order for the top 1-2% of the country to earn 40% of the entire GDP, the 99% needs to take the burden. In other words, for capitalism to work in such great numbers there needs to be people who make absolutely nothing. Once again, it's notable that most of the 99% do work hard.
It is simply a broken system.
I have two jobs. I work very hard. I went to college and grad school. That doesn't mean I don't support OWS. The revolution has not been won. We have a lot more work to do. Keep Occupying! http://www.facebook.com/pages/Occupy-Westchester/274093539289447
I'm happy for you getting a job but it seems you are already becoming one of those "I found a job, so you all are just lazy" people. Just because you found a job doesn't mean there are a shitload of jobs or that you are special in any way. So sad. And yeah, we don't all have a mommy who can go get us a job.
I've already set up a career networking group that will be running out the park twice a week. I'll help you guys learn how to find jobs too!
Trolling along......
I just want to let you know something.
Your mom
I'll be thinking of you even though you have not been supportive of me.
We’re going to miss you, thanks for the effort and good luck ahead. Good boy mom!
Thank you!!!
Obviously fake. Very, very obviously fake. And you know it.
feedest not yon troll.
TROLL!!!! Quit getting us to turn on eachother.
Again, very fake.
Sad, I wish you could join us.
You went overboard in your initial post and gave the game away. The fact that you are still acting the part is just sad. Goodnight.
Sorry for being happy. You have a good night too.
It seems the poster thinks one must be unemployed and sleep in the park to be a part of the OccupyWallStreet . I beg to differ. I don't sleep in Zucotti Park but consider myself a part of the movement. I am in my mid 50s and I speak of OccupyWallStreet constantly to my friends and neighbors. I recruit support. The movement must embrace people, working or unemployed. After all, the movement is in part to help the working poor who can ill afford to take a day off to march with #OWS. It is hardly worth commenting on a post which reads "The revolution has been won" because the poster got a job through his mother's connection. The world is watching #OWS. You have the power now to affect change; I feel it. But the power must be garnered and directed with purpose. And yet, OWS prides and defines itself as leaderless and without demands. In my humble opinion and with all due respect and I do have a great deal of respect for you all, the world is waiting to hear what it is OWS wants and they want to hear this stated with clarity and force. Having a direction is not a limitation, it is a sign of strength.
Have fun cleaning toilets Bro, pretty sure they don't have a robot for that yet.
Umm, I'll be helping indigents with rent issues against their landlords and the city. Unless their problem is toliets, I'm guessing I won't be near them, Bra.
Oh that's cool. I thought this thread was some kind of troll pyc-out.
Apparently that is what a lot thought. Those that are with me have been cool though. I'll be baking you guys goods for as long as you stay out here and bringing them to the site.
I'm also going to help out with a type of career services to anyone looking for work. So no one can blame me for not sharing the wealth.
Your Awesome Bro.
Due to cutbacks, the light at the end of the tunnel has been switched off.
Adios MF!
Classy...
"The revolution has been won!!!"
You only managed to secure more resources.
It ain't over yet.
I long suspected this guy of being a TROLL!!!!!
I challenged him to change his username because it too closely resembled the legitimate name of OWS, but he adamantly refused.
like you adamantly refuse to meet me and discuss your issues with me
Because I got a job? Isn't that what we are here fighting for?! Once we get what we want will all be trolls?
I've told you, I'm happy to meet with you if you are actually here. I'll be at the corner of Broadway and Liberty whenever you'd like to discuss what your personal vendetta is against me.
Well good you got a job.
Just don't forget those that stood by you in protest.
Yeah, man, you really are a genius... We were all here fighting for you to get a job!!! That was OUR ONE AND ONLY DEMAND all along! And now that you've got a job, then the Revolution is over, finito! As you say :"Let's all move out of this park and into offices. The revolution has been won!!!" That's all, folks... MONSIEUR HAS A JOB, as for the rest of the country... let them eat cake!
Is that a threat? I'll ask an officer to acommpany me and I'll look into your username and get your info if it is.
Look just edit your message to say that the fight is not done yet.
That you will support those in the crowd still unable to get a decent job.
If you are honest about still supporting the protests. Just edit.
Well, I see you just edited out of your comment the ludicrous sentence "Let's all move out of this park and into offices. The revolution has been won!!!"
As for a "threat", where exactly do you see a threat? In the "let them cake"? Cake is not a THREAT, it's a TREAT (no "h").
Вы мусор! У вас есть дорогие матери, которая является шлюха вам занятости, а остальные из нас здесь избиения полицией! Вы больше ничего хан грязь под myfeet. Желаю вам и вашей матери гнить в аду.
Hahahahaha..something very fishy about this post.
Because we are all getting wet right now? I had a nice little nap going in my corner of the park and then the rain started in. It does smell a bit fishy out here, but I think its just the river water.
We are thinking of you!
All of the haters and trolls seemed to miss this very key sentance.
"We should work hard ourselves to get in to good positions so we can then makes changes. Let's work to get the government out of business and vice versa."
That is what we are fighting for. We should continue to fight for it.
Haters and trolls, we are wet right now, leave us alone just for tonight.
Peace
BWHAHAHAHA This is either a troll or one heck of a shallow moron, who just came don't to join the party because it looked like fun and he thought he might get laid.....I vote TROLL.......and a fairly transparent one at that.
I vote kookla is a dbag. If you were outside soaking with us right now, you'd know that I wasn't a troll. Way to try to bring us down. Koch TROLL!!!
LOL your running off at the mouth about mommy finding you a job, and how the revolution has been "won" everyone should go home, all because you now got a job....can any one really be that naive stupid and shallow.... or are really that much of a "mommy's boy"....Koch doesn't need TROLLs if fools like you are the heart of the OWS.... fortunately they are not.
I see, You must be confused by the statment "let's all move out of the park and in to offices." For the more intelligent amongst us with some power of reading between the lines, we can tell that the sentance is supposed to be taken as eventually.
You'll get there!!! I'll be thinking of you kookie.
Your comprehension is worse than your grammar.
No where did I state that everyone should all go home. Either you are a troll looking to rile people up or you are so self-involved you cannot be happy for small victories. Either way, unless you change your attitude you have no place in this movement.
"Let's all move out of this park and into offices. The revolution has been won!!!" occupiedwallstreet ....... LOL you no more represent the OWS movement than you think I do..... and I don't claim to..... OWS is a lot of voices, trying to reach a distilled single point of reference, find the corner stone of why our culture and economy are broken and dysfunctional.... and I am betting the system of legalized graft and corruption is going to become that single unifying point of reference, and your getting Job, thanks to mommy has very little to do with that.... talk about "self involved".... geeze get a clue son.
Kookla, try to get inside. The rain is starting to get to you and you don't look good with hate. Try to smile. We are winning. One job at a time. We all love you and are thinking of you over in this corner of the park.
LOL naive stupidity and shallowness is not worth hating, only the result of it. Hate the sin not the sinner. Even Jesus showed us that when he chased the money changers out of the temple, but forgave the tax collector. Winning has nothing to do with you getting a job, it has to do with taking back our representative Government from the 1% who control it, that have created a large loss of jobs, and all this unemployment. So run along to mommy, and remember ....your shallow little naive perceptions don't define the OWS movement, and there is no "We" in your words ...only you..... and Mommy
Ok, just stop the hate.
We over in this corner of the park are thinking of you and hope you change your attitude.
I would say that I am happy that you can now pay your bills and live a somewhat normal life depending on how much you will be taking home. With consumer prices skyrocketing and wealth disparity grossly hitting people with their family lives who are struggling, we need to see to it that all who seek better out of our system receive what they deserve. Congratulations on improving your life. I really support that, but remember those who are not as fortunate as you or those that have a job that barely covers student loans, an underwater mortgage or healthcare, or better yet, those that struggle to buy food and depend on assistance just to survive. The revolution is not won until the person standing next to you on the sidewalk waiting to cross the street is in the same position that you are in.
we havent won...but im glad you got a job....you are doing the right thing i have a job too...but we wont win until we eliminate war poverty corruption bigotry and prejudice..so i will keep on fighting...i can do 7 things at once for the rest of my days...here is 1 thing i do....HOPE Humans on Planet Earth chilled http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QrDLwSgg24...have fun work hard come back somehow....we havent won yet!
I don't understand how getting a job would change your mind about this movement... I've had my job for 3 years now and I still support this movement 100%... So either you jumped on the "band wagon" headed for this movement and decided to get off at an earlier stop or this situation that you've put before us with you "leaving" the movement because you have found a job is completely made up... Either way I guess I'm glad you have left because you weren't behind us at all
With that logic, it would seem that the movement wasn't behind me. Guess, you are the one that was duped.
What you're having a hard time understanding is that this movement is not behind any one person nor can reflect any one persons view on every subject... You have to pick and choose which subject you back, whcih the subjects are picked based on consesus and can be but does not have to be the view of any one person
Concern troll got 80 comments, impressive. The whole point of the troll is to show false concern and pretend to be on your side while at the same time undermining it. Each time they're called on this behavior they act like you are personally assaulting them and are the bad guy. Best course of action, ignore or concern troll back
Exactly.
does that make you a dbag troll?
You would think that someone who really was in the OWS movement and got a job would remain in the movement and share his/her success story with the rest of us. I've been working for 40+ years, am working now and would not think of leaving the movement. It's easier to engender change from within than without.
Like I said, I'll be bringing people to teach networking and other essential career tools at my own expense as well as continuing to bake at my own expense for the group.
Thank you.
Congratulations on your new job! If everyone worked hard, doing their best, that would be a good thing. There is nothing wrong with working hard. There is something wrong with expecting someone else to work and give those who don't want to work a handout.
I got a job today too! And there are more positions open at my local McDonalds. Come on Hippies Walmart is hiring too Jet off the streets stop eating all of that free food and get on food stamps like every other wage slave.Poverty subsides rule!!!
Now, do you see what I did there?
Congratulations on your job. I think you are making a very smart move and I hope that other people take your advice and go out and find jobs as well.
ha ha !
Just because he has a job doesn't mean the protest is over.
I'm happy to meet with any of you to prove that I'm a real person. When would you like to meet?
Agreed, but "the revolution" has not been won, so let's start the war against Injustice by starting our own banks to double the income of the Bottom 99% of Workers, for many more people will come to your side when you are proactive (for “new” Business & Government solutions), instead of reactive (against “old” Business & Government solutions), which is why what we most immediately need is a comprehensive “new” strategy that implements all our various socioeconomic demands at the same time, regardless of party, and although I'm all in favor of taking down today's ineffective and inefficient Top 1% Management System of Business & Government, there's only one way to do it – by fighting bankers as bankers ourselves, and thus doubling our income from Bank Profits which are 40% of all Corporate Profits; that is, using a Focused Direct Democracy organized according to our current Occupations & Generations. Consequently, I have posted a 1-page Summary of the Strategically Weighted Policies, Organizational Operating Structures, and Tactical Investment Procedures necessary to do this at:
http://getsatisfaction.com/americanselect/topics/on_strategically_weighted_policies_organizational_operating_structures_tactical_investment_procedures-448eo
Join http://finance.groups.yahoo.com/group/StrategicInternationalSystems/ because we need 100,000 “support clicks” at AmericansElect.org in support of the above bank-focused platform.
Most importantly, remember, as cited in the first link, that as Bank Owner-Voters in your 1 of 48 "new" Business Investment Groups (or "new" Congressional Committees) you become the "new" Online Congress, and related “new” Businesses, REPLACING the "old" Congress, and related “old” Businesses, according to your current Occupations & Generations, called a Focused Direct Democracy.
Therefore, any Candidate (or Leader) therein, regardless of party, is a straw man, a puppet, a political opportunist, just like today; what's important is the STRATEGY – the sequence of steps – that the people organize themselves under in Military Internet Formation of their Individual Purchasing Power & Group Investment Power. In this, sequence is key, and if the correct mathematical sequence is followed then it results in doubling the income of the Bottom 99% of Workers from today's Bank Profits, which are 40% of all Corporate Profits.
Why? Because there are Natural Social Laws – in mathematical sequence – that are just like Natural Physical Laws, such as the Law of Gravity. You must follow those Natural Social Laws or the result will be Injustice, War, etc.
The FIRST step in Natural Social Law is to CONTROL the Banks as Bank Owner-Voters. If you do not, you will inevitably be UNJUSTLY EXPLOITED by the Top 1% Management System of Business & Government who have a Legitimate Profit Motive, just like you, to do so.
Consequently, you have no choice but to become Candidates (or Leaders) yourselves as Bank Owner-Voters according to your current Occupations & Generations.
So JOIN the 2nd link, and spread the word, so we can make 100,000 support clicks at AmericansElect.org when called for, at exactly the right time, by an e-mail from that group, in support of the above the bank-focused platform. If so, then you will see and feel how your goals can be accomplished within the above strategy as a “new” Candidate (or Leader) of your current Occupation & Generation.
the level of ignorance out here is just mind boggling.. please research Resource Based Economy.. these are SERIOUS TIMES http://youtu.be/1SQqjTxI3vc
