Forum Post: Leave some of the 99% alone

Hey guys!! I'm not part of the 1%, but I'm definitely toward the higher part of this bottom 99%

I think that at least 25% of this 99% doesn't feel represented by your OWS movement at all. Perhaps you could change it to the 75% that pays 20% of the taxes?

Or, how about they speak for themselves and represent themselves as the 1% fringe that they are? What a noble concept - not claiming to represent people that didn't ask to be spoken for?

Haha point well taken. Do you feel that any part of the government/economy, etc. needs to be changed? If so what? If not, why?

Just trying to promote constructive conversation.

Thanks, Richard

The taxes you pay, that I pay as well, are handed to the 1% through loop holes, credits and off shore shelters. Companies that pay zero in Federal taxes still collect billions of our dollars in "refunds." Are you represented by the 1% who take your money?

you are part of the 99%. just because your have had advantages that other people havent to put you in a better situation doenst mean you cant support the liberation of the people of the world. just because you have money doenst mean your not a slave to the same corporations that control the world. it is people like you that need to stand up for the people without resources and the people that cant do what you do or talk to the people you do. it is people like you that can open the minds of your peers to the realities of the world. unless you couldnt care less about anybody else but yourself...

sadly, the movement seems very much about the upper middle class

the investment funds that the banks lost belonged to that set

they are angry that the banks got bailed out

nothing has really changed for the lower classes bail out or no

this is part the revolution the world has already started. this isnt about middle class or class at all for that matter. this isnt even about American or Americans. this is a revolution to shift the control of the world to the people of the world and take it out of the hands of the corporatocracy.

One thing I realised is that noone gives a shit about what you and I think. Noone gives a shit about my "good ideas" either. So I had to get an education, money and now I can put my idea at work with my money.

But most of the 99% hasn't accomplished anything significant in their lives, it would make no sense to listen to them about how to run a country. Lot's of them can even handle their own finances, it's fair to say that I don't want them making any decisions for this country.

sure enough. very true. makes a very logical arguement. without money the rich and well to do will be helpless little babies no even knowing how to cook a decent meal for themselves or how to function in a world that you cant just pay some immigrants to do everything for you. it is the immigrants and 3rd world nations that will be teaching the rich how to be resourceful and survive. ironic huh?

indeed

the bailout is an example of how the corporatocracy control our government

Andy Stern, and George Soros see this as a cheap and easy way to get press.

They are stealing OWS from the people!

This is not about who pays taxes. This is about political representation. The people in Washington do not at this time represent 99% of the citizens in this country. The politicians On The Hill are puppets for the banks, wallstreet and the corporations (the 1% )and do their bidding 99% of the time. The congress that we have does not give a crap about the middle class....that's YOU, that's 99% of the US citizens. We are now SERFS!!

Which is why OWS ought to be focused solely on lobbying Congress with their message. They are completely losing their effectiveness by clouding their message and focusing on Wall Street. OWS is allowing the Pelosi's of the world to shift the blame and embrace the Wall Street hatred without accepting any of this as their responsibility. Stupidity.

It is more like 40% of the people who are doing their best to fuck things up for everybody else, these people are evil mother fuckers who like to fuck people over everyday all day and some of these people are the Right Wing Christians, leaders who are fucked up in the head and need to be locked up. Remove their BS and see if the country don't get better.

I don't think "99%" represents a percentage of income as much as it represent lacking political power.
