Here is a proposal for those out there who can't seem to see the other sides point of view. For those who only vote democratic, try watching FOX news for one week to see where those who get their news exclusively from FOX are coming from. Now, for those who only get their news from FOX, why not try watching MSNBC for one week to see where the 99%ers are coming from. At the end of this experiment, try post your observations pointing out those things you agree with, those you are unsure about and those that you consider to be completely false. I am very liberal, but I will dedicate myself to watching FOX news this week and writing out examples of the three categories listed above (true, unsure, and lies), providing documentation of source material when necessary to back up my claims and opinions.
i think that this is reasonable and intelligent. There is however, other points of you, neither right or left; all media is biased and news has evolved into commercials/propaganda for one view or another. To find out the truth one has to take the time to research and read outside the mainstream especially. There is more truth spoken on the internet among regular people who are educating themselves with the facts, then in any store bought or television "news".
This, I know, but my search for the truth evolved. First there was the Daily Show, then Stephen Colbert. These two were followed by Rachel Maddow and all of the shows on MSNBC after 5 pm. And finally, I found Alternet.org and other internet news sources that seem less averse to the truth than all of the pundits on FOX. My hope is that similar epiphanies will occur to others who are as unaware as I was years ago.
Chris Matthews and Fat Ed are impossible to watch. Too much hatred and vitriol spewing out of their venomous mouths. I can watch oprah though.
Dude, please don't do that to yourself. Even the (kinda) smart Repubs will tell you FOX is garbage.
I must . . . For the Republic! The problem is that FOX news is popular enough to stay on the air, so it's obvious that not enough consider it garbage, if that is in fact what it is.
