People are protesting some crazy ass things but with no specific agenda. They have no unity and no leverage. Their missing the punchline which is why I do not support this. If they could go out in unison and abandon work for an entire week or everyone stopped filing taxes next year or some crazy shit like that THEN we have a movement. Until then... "reality is harsh. By the holidays, most of the protesters will have long since gone home, and Wall Street will still be occupied by Wall Street." IF we could get everyone to not file taxes, not pay their mortgages, rent, credit card bills for one month or so, or even stop working completely for a week or two... TRUST me employers and governments agencies and banks would freak out and they would scare the shit of people by threatening to fire them and late fees, wtf is that? Thats the leverage point the need to have. They need to unify and be led by a single group of a few. Not just one leader but a panel. http://www.suntimes.com/news/roeper/8135629-452/how-exactly-will-occupy-wall-street-protesters-succeed.html
I have found several leaders browsing the threads here .In 99% there are plenty of them. This isn't a football team needing to run complex plays smoothly.
This is a numbers game at this point. Occupy Together has signed up people in1,265 cities across America. About three days ago it was 730. Numbers are what is needed for leverage. The frustration everywhere is a great leader. It isn't going away anytime soon either. We are putting on plenty of pressure now and I am sure we can find enough ways to ratchet it up. There is a lot more going on than you know about.Just be patient. Be prepared to give it your best effort. We need to project maturity, discipline, and resoluteness. We'll get there.
Yes but sitting outside isn't doing anything, no one is out directing the people, this movement needs to have a panel of leaders that can join in unison and move the party together. The numbers are not in favor of American frustration; and not many can join, people have to work, go to school , priorities that take over their ability to stay outside, if the movement could achieve a movement for everyone to stop doing something then this would be an epic battle won by boycotting the government. When has a war/reform/anything historically relevant been won without the leadership of one or few? I wish the cause would create a group that can serve as spokespersons for the movement.
The media is not in the peoples favor YET and that needs to be changed as well.
