America often seems founded by lawyers... for lawyers....
"The settlement called for the city to pay $47,000 to the movement’s Library Working Group for the loss of the books and $186,000 in legal fees. About $16,000 will come from Brookfield Properties, the owner of the park."
Bloomberg and his army's behavior was the lowest of low.
"Absence of accountability" breeds insolence, ignorance and ultimately becomes the norm, if not resisted.
They attacked the library, in particular, because it held ideas. Ideas that might change the nation. That is very un-American.
Book burning worked very well for the Reich.
It helped foment hatred and ultimately assisted in developing a kind of "enforcer of laws" capable of much worse. America ought expect no different from its own "enforcers of laws".
Germany did not step from book burning to death camps overnight. It took effort and time to create that type of uneducated "enforcer of laws".
It wont be long before America has the type of ideology in place within its own justice system to exact death camps upon its own people.
"The United States has the highest documented incarceration rate in the world, at 754 per 100,000 (as of 2009)."

We're well on our way, sadly.
What is just and what is legal, are rarely the same.
Any society unable to determine the difference, will fail.
