There is a serious lack of leadership in this country, at this point of time. Who is leading? Congress certainly isnt leading. Who is stepping up to lead? Don't all raise your hands at the same time.
Republican voters let this clown Romney be handed the nomination by the establishment. And Democrats- Who says that the incumbent HAS to get the nod? We can't do things differently anymore? No more radical thoughts? (note: this is not even that radical an idea).
Attack ads. Smear ads. Talking points. Lip service. Hit the party highlights. Bring the typical wedge issues back into the spotlight. Get the public to focus on minor differences. Ignore the reality. Create the illusion.
It starts with the people. And it ends with the people. Until Americans, people like you and I, decide that we are going to pull out collective heads out of our asses then things will change-for the worse.
Could it be that the land of the free, home of democracy, is incapable of self governance? Simply refuses to step up to the plate?

No we just need to take politicians at their words and never fact check.
Evidence is not necessary. Just sit back and watch the tv ads!
They'd show us the evidence but it's a threat to national security.
Pretty much, which is why I look forward to the looming financial meltdown. It's the only thing that will wake people from their sitcoms.
