Forum Post: Koch 'O' Nuts: A Field Guide.

This content is user submitted and not an official statement

To know what's playing, it's good to know the players........:)

"As the very real threat of a catastrophic debt default loomed this week, the Koch Brothers were running for cover. Koch Industries sent a letter to Congress saying the corporation controlled by two of the richest billionaires in the world was not responsible for the shutdown.

David Koch's Americans for Prosperity group helpfully clarified that it did not support the strategy to defund the Affordable Care Act (ACA), it just wanted to repeal it.

It’s time for a fact check. The Koch family foundations and the newest known Koch vehicle -- Freedom Partners, which is staffed with by operatives connected to the Kochs and housed in the same building as Charles Koch’s foundation -- have bankrolled practically every group working to create a fake grassroots uprising against the ACA. Many of the groups linked to the Kochs have also pushed an extreme “shut-it-down” position that led the U.S. to the brink of a historic government debt default.

Here is a field guide to some of the Koch O’ Nuts and what is known about their funding."

There sure are a lot of them.

In support, here's a little something on our "friends"(not) the libe(R)tarians, and their drive for co-option.

It absolutely is co-option. At some point, it has to hit you that this group of people has every intention of destroying you.

[-] 1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

They are the ultimate in faux grassroots PR campaigns.

The Koch's can always rely on them to move things in their desired direction.

That's why the teabaggers are a faction of the pugs. The pugs are the party of deceit. The dems are the party of lame. Get rid of one and make the lame get in the game.

Same game as they have their lackeys play - " It wasn't Us It was Them "

The constant attempts to delay the ACA are telling too.

Now that Cruz is in full burnout, they send in Rubio again. Can Ryan be far behind?

Let em all burn-out their careers in office on the subject.

Yep. Are their lips moving? They are lying.

[-] -1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

I'm assuming you're talking about the libe(R)topians?

Let’s look at Young Americans for Liberty. The section entitled Ron Paul’s Endorsement should be a tip-off:

Back in the 1960s, an influential youth movement formed around

another anti-establishment presidential candidate.

His name was Barry Goldwater.

The organization was called Young Americans for Freedom; and without it, we may have never seen Ronald Reagan in the White House.

I have high hopes for Young Americans for Liberty,

and wish them a similar fortune.

Similar fortune, indeed. And then there’s the blog post on the group’s front page on the disastrous government shutdown and flirtation with defaulting on the nation’s debt payments:

Usually, I’m a fan of gridlock, because I’m a fan of winding down the state.

I romanticize about the idea of a permanent government shutdown and the elevation of a free humanity based on natural law and virtue.

“Winding down the state.” Nice partner for serious surveillance reform there. Dig a little deeper and you find open support for the “militia movement” and other hard right activity, and the labeling of the Southern Poverty Law Center as one “of the biggest enemies of our liberty.” And the organization specializes in tweets like these:

After just a few days of shutdown, the country is in ruins…

oh, wait, that’s Detroit when the gov’t was “helping.”

Shallow lies about Detroit are a dead giveaway.

[-] -1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

I saw a positive report on Detroit on PBS News Hour the other day.

BTW - Back space four of your lines - they are running off the page.

[-] -1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Does anybody watch PBS these days??

Is that better? I have no idea why it changes the font.

BTW, it was always about (R)epelican't government cutting off aid to Detroit, all the way back to Engler.

It's not surprising that libe(R)topians would ignore that fact.

[-] -1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Nope - you have to backspace further - the scroll bar will disappear when you have gone far enough - you can toss in a bullet at the front of each to keep them highlighted ( indented ).

People do watch PBS - it was funny (sad) though that in one segment an obvious tea-party supporter blamed it all on past Dem leadership.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

They aren't real happy about the slush fund being dismantled.

But then, I wasn't real happy to be in the State of Amway.

You can bet there's a few cases of Koch involved as well.

[-] 0 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Sad Thing But True = There are legal slush-funds for for those in office - they are called leadership pacs and for some god awful reason ( new name for same illegal activity ) State and Federal elected officials can use them ( money coming from lobbyists and such ) to take vacation , Buy a House or car or or or or and it is not called bribery or illegal use of funds.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

The funny part?

Snyder claims he has no idea who these "altruists" are.

Use of the term altruist by a teabagge(R), libe(R)topian, borders on the twilight zone.

[-] -1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Use of the term altruist by a teabagge(R), libe(R)topian, borders on the twilight zone.

For them does it not boil down to self love instead of being an outwardly directed concept?

[-] -1 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Yes, I believe they've twisted that definition, that far afield from reality.

[-] -1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

It just makes sense that if they are aware of the term - that that is how they would interpret it. Actions speak louder than words.

[-] 0 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Self altruism, the ultimate libe(R)topian oxymoron.

[-] 1 points by DKAtoday (33802) from Coon Rapids, MN 11 years ago

Ain't that the truth.

They are a group of zombies.

[+] -4 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

What other "zombies" have I heard babbling lies about Detroit?

Or perhaps just "choosing" to ignore this important subject.

[-] -1 points by GirlFriday (17435) 11 years ago

The narley (not gnarly) kind? The kind that spends every waking moment trying to detract from the states?

[-] -3 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

There are others, of which Mr. Munny was the most glaring.

Not surprisingly, none of these posters shows the least concern for what is happening in the States.

Yep, all the while perpetuating Alex Jones shit.

[-] -2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Libe(R)topians, the lot of 'em.

When confronted with State issues, they inevitably run for the cover of Monsanto, drones or the ACA.

It's a dead give away.

[-] -1 points by HCHC4 (-28) 11 years ago

No one is running for cover, that's ridiculous. How does one run for cover on the internet anyways? You speak on states issues, others like myself speak on national issues. Is there a problem with that?

[-] -2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

You ran for the cover of your gang. A gang who's members still attack this site. A gang in who's membership, you never did explain.

You ran for cover instead, under yet another nameplate..

You run for cover every time you're asked to follow the money in N. Carolina.

That's just 2.

What happened to your "concern" for community??

You ignore almost every Florida issue presented.

Then you call the 99% asses, while presenting links you collected at Alex Jones. BTW, you also never said what it is you so like about him.

Oooooops.........you started another thread on drones, after I provided you further information on the last one you started, you let it fall, rather than address that information.

so yeah.........you are one of those who run for cover......a lot.

Although California,is beginning to see just how deep and convoluted their money network really is.

How long a time and how much money will they now spend to avoid the fine?

[-] -3 points by drinkbrondo (-71) 11 years ago

Let's all sing the Koch Brothers song...

"I'm a Koch you're a Koch...

Whiny fucking liberals still angry. It never fucking ends with them. As though the country would be almost in a state of utopia ...if not for those Koch brothers. You are so fucked up. Just say Boogeyman an instead..much easier to blame.

[-] -2 points by shoozTroll (17632) 11 years ago

Excuse me??

Um.

I'm going to give you what's called an ultimatum.

After reading your posts today, I noticed you've made quite a lot of negative statements, not one which you've substantiated.

At this point in time, I'm going to give you about a half hour to provide links that prove even half of them...........Or you can be gone.

Hopefully of your own free will...............But maybe not.

It's 11:00EDT.

Time's 'a' wasting.
