Im a little concerned with the way the media seems to want to drag the debate away from corporations and onto the government. I think we should really watch that. Its not that we dont have issues with the government, but, the issues we have are primarily because of corporate influence.

Im also concerned how even the "liberal" shows are skirting the issue of corporate person hood in large. Obviously, media outlets are also corporate, and losing the right to free speech would be a big one for them, so we should be aware people, we will get little help from the media in pushing that one through.

We need to keep it on the table via networking. I think we should be aware that this is an issue the corporations have fought long and hard for, and we are going to have to make a conscious effort to keep this front and center and not allow it to get blown over now that people are getting a lot of the OWS info from the media. Its very important to getting the rest of our various needs met.

I agree, but we need to begin by finding a lawful and logical way to remove "corporate influence" from our politics....

I believe that starts with campaign finance reform. Read my recent post entitled "A Good Demand to Start with...

The day when our elected officials begin again to feel it is more important to listen to what their constituents say than what the corporations who fund their campaign demand is the day that we can begin to wrest back and our democracy and address the important concerns you raise here about "corporate personhood" and the like.
