You people should spend more time looking for jobs and less time protesting. No one forced you to take out thousands of dollars in loans to go to college. If you don't have the money then you work until you get the money. Major corporations pay our salaries in this country. Have any of you ever looked at a tax return for a major corporation? Of course not. I have and most companies pay more in taxes in one year than any of you will make in 5 years. There are plenty of jobs available for people who actually want to work. You are communists and socialists and I will do anything I can to shut down your movement. I hope you get shut down in every city that you try to organize in. Abandoned buildings and properties are not yours to use. I work hard to earn my money and there is no reason I should give it to people who are to lazy to work. In short...get a real life and join the real world!

Angie... I am 62 years old, have worked continuously for more than 40 years, completely debt free, my house is paid for, and I've been saving like hell to have a modest retirement which will probably come about the next time I am laid off. The last thing anyone would do is describe me as lazy. I am not a communist, socialist, and do not identify with any political party or ideological sect. So why am I sympathetic to #OWS anger?

We live in a society where there is an incestuous relationship between "our" government and big corporations. Thanks to the Supreme Court, corporations and Big-Money are no longer constrained in giving as much money as they want to fund the campaigns of our elected officials. Our representatives are for all practical purposes bought and paid for. Who was it that said "we've got the best politicians money can buy"? So that our "elected" officials can be properly instructed in how to vote, there is an army of corporate and big money lobbyists to write legislation for them. Does anyone remember the time when Congressmen John Boehner was passing out campaign contribution checks on the floor of the House just before a vote?

As a result of the last 30 years of big money in our government system, legislation has been passed that favors big corporations over middle class Americans. I am angry as hell over this and I want to do something to stop it. I want to level the playing field in the political arena. I recognize there is power in numbers and so I want to work with as many people as possible to demand change. There is no other option for me.

Dear Angie9122,

Suck it. I'm gainfully self employed, never borrowed for my education am neither a communist nor a socialist (although I doubt you could describe the difference for me) and I still think you are an unrepentant idiot and that your corporatist government should suck it too.

Can I ask you a question?

Why is college so expensive to begin with... THAT'S the issue here, we CAN"T AFFORD IT, and in a world that wants skills, and diplomas, and THEN having it be basically no affordable for a middle class whose wages haven't changed since 1970..

"There are plenty of jobs available for people who actually want to work."

Sadly, that statement reveals a significant lack of understanding as to the reality of the job situation in this country.

you are not in a position to tell people what they should do. You have missed the point of why we are doing this. it has little to do with mere college loans, and you can't work in an economy where there is no work. You don't know what the people have looked at. i have. That they pay more taxes is a good thing- they make more money, thats the way it should be. there are not plenty of jobs available, the country is realistically at about 25 percent unemployment. We are not communists and socialists and you saying that proves you are ignorant and don't know what that means and that you are without a consience and willing to use ad homs you don't even understand. We are not asking you to give us your money. We are asking you to grow an ethics, quit being evil, and stop the caste wars. in short, get a life and join the real world- the one that isn't a corporate zog stepladder to hell.

According to a 2008 article by David Rothkopf, the world’s 1,100 richest people have almost twice the assets of the poorest 2.5 billion (Rothkopf, 2008). Aside from the obvious problem – that this global elite has their hands in everything from politics to financial institutions – …

To the extent that we, the people, are removed from control over our lands, marketplaces, central banks, and media we are no longer empowered. In practice, those few who do control the land, central bank, media and "free market" are the real rulers of our corrupt and declining "democracy."

Due to propaganda from a corporate-owned and edited media we are kept from knowing, much less debating, the nature of our system. Due to a central bank owned by bankers, media owned by a few global concerns, and trade regime controlled by global corporations (i.e., one designed to remove the people from control over their markets and environments) the vast majority have become little more than latter-day serfs and neo-slaves upon a corporate latifundia.

To restore a semblance of effective democracy and true freedom Americans, and people around the world, need to re-educate themselves as to the true nature of their political and economic systems. Toward this end, OligarchyUSA.com is dedicated to providing old and new information, books, links, reform ideas and debates not easily found or accessed today in establishment media.

OligarchyUSA.com is but one more site and sign of the times as ground-up counter-revolutions arise around the world... all in response to a forced and freedomless globalization courtesy of a ruling global elite perfecting their top-down plutocracy and revolutions of the rich against the poor. In short, democracy is no longer effective today. For this reason, it is toward a restoration of truly effective and representative democracies, and natural freedom, that this site is dedicated.

Most corporations pay more in taxes than we make in five years because we don't have jobs. None of us are too lazy to work...again, we don't have jobs. Wanting to work and not being able to doesn't make us communists or socialists. Even communists and socialists like to work. The right to work a job is really important to everyone. For many of us, we WERE forced to go to college and take out student loan debts- that's what middle class parents do. They force you to go to college. If you love your parents...you go. Abandoned properties aren't anyone's to use, that's why it's called civil disobedience. I have a life, and it sucks because I don't have a job and I'm certainly living in the real world, where I'm forced to face crippling poverty every day because I'm not working.

You are an IDIOT! There are more skilled people unemployed than there are jobs. They all had jobs before Wall Street stole their money. Keep on Barking are you trying to INCITE. People are legitamately concerned with the econonmy and diplomacy is your first option I suggest you take it.

There are 25 million people out of work. Most of them had worked steadily until the meltdown. Something caused it. Many of them had absolutely nothing to do with the the meltdown and or their job being lost. Have you ever lost a job for no apparent reason? How about when you were late in your career and nobody wants to hire you? You are aware that many major corporations avoid paying any taxes, aren't you? That the average tax rate actually paid have been going down steadily and is the lowest since 1950? I have laid off a lot of people but I never enjoyed it the way you would appear to.

Angie, if I may ask you a question, are you ok with corporate lobbyists writing regulation in order to further their corporate interests at your expense? Just because they hire people and provide jobs does not mean they should be able to run government as well. Do you think that our monetary policy should be set by private banking institutions, 3 of which are not even American? Should those banks be able to charge the people 10% on ever dollar they print? When they print money it costs us 10% plus the inflation rate which devalues your dollar and your wages don't increase but prices sure so. Is that ok with you?

Fact: 45% of federal tax revenue comes from income taxes - Fact: 45% of federal tax revenue comes from Social Security payments - Fact: Only 10% of federal revenue comes from corporate taxes: the majority of Big Business corporations are able to foot the bill for expensive lawyers and accountants who work their magic by maneuvering loopholes in the system and screw over the rest of us tax payers.

Businesses just build the cost of taxes back into the price of stuff you buy. Any real economist can tell you that you cannot really tax a corporation, only individuals. Politicians know this, but take us for fools, hoping to buy our votes while returning nothing.

Let's demand that the government shut off all funding to the UN, all foreign governments, big banks, ObamaMoters, all government-owned businesses, etc. Then give each protester - and any other American who wants some - 40 acres of government land and a mule, so we can homestead and become the pioneers of the new America. The federal government is the largest landowner in the nation, so they could easily do this, and give away the land for free. And we demand a total exemption from all land & other taxes for 10 years until we are ready to make our new land grants sustain us without buying from any big establishment outfits.

Yeah!
