Tonight (Tuesday) Anaheim PD shoot protesters with rubber bullets, bean bag guns and pepper ball guns. Police shot a man in the chest with a bean bag gun from 5-10 feet away as he tried to get his bike and then arrested him. Many people hit. Starbucks windows smashed and a dumpster fire all while Disney shoots off fireworks. 7 helicopters overhead.

Will post updates as more comes out

Update - has video - http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/24/anaheim-police-protest_n_1698091.html

This protest was in response to the events on July 21st where cops assaulted men, women, and children with rubber bullets and police dogs after the neighborhood held a protest after police shot and killed a 7th person in their neighborhood over a short time.

Video from July 21st shows cops assaulting men women and children - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VTqdPAjWesc

Excellent video. It's sad to see Russia is giving better coverage on this issue than the USA

Isn't that amazing, the heirs of Pravda are more honest than the heirs of Edward R. Murrow.

NPR, CNN, MSNBC, FOX, etc. = Goebel's darlings.

I'm still waiting for the national news coverage. I work for a local station and have been telling them about this situation since Sunday. We mainly cover local news but we have a national newswatch segment. Nope! They don't want to cover it.

There has been some, although this is a repeat posting.

It did hit CNN.com today.

Since they are now opening fire on the press, that might go away soon.

I've noticed US internet media pick up a little and with what recently happened they put a heavy emphasis on the starbucks windows getting smashed by a few people.

One site showed people in starbucks in fear instead of the video of cops shooting rubber bullets at a dad shielding his children right before they released a dog at a husband and wife who was holding a small child.

The story that's on CNN.com is about to fall off front page circulation, it was a token attempt anyway.

The only National coverage that I have seen so far - was on the PBS News Hour.

My bad it was not on the News Hour Last Night - But I did find this on the PBS site:

Anaheim Protests Reveal 'Climate of Anger' at Police | PBS NewsHour 20 hours ago ... Saturday's fatal shooting by police of an unarmed man in Anaheim, Calif., prompted days of protests against a police department that some ... www.pbs.org/newshour/rundown/2012/07/anaheim-protests.html

Trying to track so many things - I can get mixed-up at times.

I like the idea that they used "pepper balls". I mad a recommendaton to the NY police force several years ago when they were having problems with riots to use "paint ball guns" for tagging perps with flourescent dye to identify them.

So we now have the California Police using them with "pepper balls" - I think that's a great idea.

It will definitely get peoples attention when they get smacked with one of these.
