Forum Post: Join the Black Friday Revolution!

I've been inspired by the OWS movement to try and start a movement of my own. It's called the Black Friday Revolution. This is it in a nutshell: Beginning the day after Thanksgiving (traditionally the start of the consumer feeding frenzy known as the holiday season) we need to initiate real change by bringing down the banks, the mortgage companies, and the credit card companies. Here's how it works: If you owe money to one of these institutions, STOP PAYING. Don't give them another dime. If we can get as many people as possible to join us, we can crash the entire system.

This isn't just a way to get out of debt. Americans are drowning in debt of all kinds. Consumer debt is at an all time high. It's a form of indentured servitude. Our lives are sold off piecemeal and before we know it, we owe as much (if not more) than we take in.

Let's get rid of it. The whole concept of credit is ridiculous. The availability of credit drives up prices. We need to drive the money lenders from the temple once and for all.

Of course, the debt mongers will resist. They will threaten everyone who refuses to pay with legal action and the destruction of their credit rating. But if enough people join us, they can't take us all to court. We need to take a stand and begin building a new, better America.
