Anyone else notice that one month after SB 1070 passed in Arizona that the US job market suddenly stopped improving after the initial recovery that began when Pres. Obama took office?

If we gave those 10-20 million illegals the boot tomorrow ...
there would be millions of empty residences across the country ...
taxes would go unpaid ... foreclosures would go up …

Consumer demand caused by SB 1070 inside Arizona collapsed many businesses.

The timing of the US recession and the Mexican economic boom corresponds with when illegal immigrants began leaving the US and going to Mexico.

A financial crisis and major period of unemployment has followed every major piece of racist legislation in the United States, and these events extend back like tree rings that show rainfall.

People ignore that illegal immigrants take their consumer demand with them when they leave the country.

Several million illegal immigrants have left the country.

Somewhat difficult to sell things to people that are not here.

Im not condoning your message, but you should be aware of my message to you. Generally the laws and actions of the president and his effects on the country do not come into effect until four or eight years after they leave office.

When Bush was in office the laws and actions of Clinton were still resonating. After Bush fucked shit up in the reign of office. Bush's actions are effecting Obama office. What Obama does now and if he gets re elected will resonate when the next corporate stooge takes office.

In the end both parities are equally to blame. In truth presidents are just the jokers and play boys to dance before us. All the while the real government is playing with our money and our lives.

The real people to blame for long effects in the country are the 4 and 5 term reps.

We can sit on our asses and point fingers while we sip on our tea all day long. It is what it is my friend. It is now time to find the clog preventing the shit we are wading in from draining.

This requires a new constution, a new economy, and new thinking. Humanity evolves my friend, nothing is ever prefect. Not even the new changes everyone is now attempting to put into action.

Nothing will be done if we do not evolve, adapt, or change. All this terminology means moving and acting.

All men who are fat and lazy do eventually move. Sadly its usually to a morge.

(not saying you are fat or lazy, nor is anyone. This is just an analogy)

So would you credit Reagan with the prosperity seen in the 90s?

[-] 1 points by morriden (128) from Burton, MI 13 years ago

As much as I despise Raegan and his many policies in many different areas. Answering your question. To a certain degree... yes

[-] 1 points by Mooks (1985) 13 years ago

I do too. I just didn't think anyone else here would agree haha.

Reagan stimulated the economy by boosting military spending by $billions$, by increasing taxes by $billions$, and by granting amnesty to millions of illegal immigrants that created $billions$ in economic stimulus (Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986).

Reagan was not the brightest individual, but he also was not a racist, and racism is the single greatest driving factor involving economic disaster.

[-] 1 points by Toddtjs (187) 13 years ago

That's true. Illegal immigrants contribute to our economy.

There is or was a hidden economy with illegal immigration which provided decent labor for the jobs most americans do not want.

I know a hispanic cultural anthropologist that will tell you half of the money earned actually went to their culture and local government's economy. You can travel to rural mexico and just see for yourself.

The other half of the wealth when back into the local American economy and helped it flourish. Sadly as the idots who are using hispanics as a scapegoat are finding out, this is hurting the American economy on a grand scale with their new laws.

[-] 1 points by Nanoatzin (23) from Santa Paula, CA 13 years ago

True.

Measurable economic demand by illegal immigrants is about 120 $billion$ each year. The actual numbers are higher than that.

The economic demand created by 120 $billion$ is responsible for about 7 million jobs for US citizens.

Our recession that began in 2007 actually started with two simple things.

First, Bush failed to get an amnesty bill passed in July 2007.

Second, China began investing $billions$ in Mexico to build factories and to help educate Mexican citizens to learn Mandarin in school.

This has caused several million illegal immigrants to return to Mexico, and that is why the California housing market collapsed first before the rest of the country.

The California population is about 33% illegal, and California has about 25% of all illegal aliens, so any boom / bust economic impact involving illegal immigration will begin in California.
