I am unemployed. I am old. No one wants to hire an old guy and pay them a living wage. I have reached the end of my money and I have reached the end of my time. I thought OWS was a way forward , but it's not. The anarchists are too concerned with being anarchists to get any thing done. I wish I could have held on longer. I wanted to. I wanted to believe there was a better something out there. I can't change it on my own and nobody is interested in solutions. I intend to take my life and get it over with. Perhaps OWS can set up a committee or something. The things we discuss have consequences and faces. This has been mine.
Just in case this is a real cry for help, don't do it. Go talk to somebody. And, for god's sake, OWS is not going to change the world overnight. You have to learn to cope in the meantime.

No problem was ever solved over night. Real change takes years... maybe even a decade. Civil rights did not happen over night. That took a long time.
Exactly.
I am sorry to hear you intend to take your life. If you feel like talking, message me.
Older workers are very much in demand, in fact unemployment is higher for young people.
Older workers are a great asset to business with attributes like:
Work ethic, on-time, wisdom, many skills, focus, reliability, and honesty. Man your life is just starting!
OWS has chosen to ignore people with life experience. You can go to a college campus and hear all the same talking points that OWS is spewing. OWS's inability to galvinize around 1 or 2 issues will lead to nothing but anarchy. Try not to let it get you down.

Tell them (911 then a Dr. also those who love and support you) what is going on in your life. Find understanding and help. Don't go it alone and do not give-up.
Call 911 if you have to. Stay on the line and let them know that you need help that you do not want to die. Please reach out and ask for help.

Do you believe in God?
Do you believe in any higher power?
I have lived with and fought chronic dystymic depression for all of my life. One thing I know for certain is that it will pass that deep darkness that tempts you to give up to end it all. If this is your 1st experience with a deep and disabling depression - then take it from one who knows - it will pass. Get to some one who loves you and be with them - hell check your self into an emergency room and have them hold you for psych evaluation. Get help - even medication can help level out your thinking - just because you are seriously depressed right now - does not mean you will remain that way forever - I know. Think also of those whom you love and who love you and understand how much you will hurt them by giving up.
Sorry if I have not been enough help to you - I am trying the best I can here on this thread. Please do not be alone right now reach out - please.
I would like to try and convince you not to do this, but I'm guessing you've fully made up your mind.
If you can't be talked out of it, at least do your damnedest to make sure the world knows WHY you are doing it.
RoughKarma, What ? ... ;) ... leave now & MISS THE PARTY ???
OWS... is coming... another 4-5 months ... and all this "movement" efforts will become an "Awakening" ... just wait & watch... and don't worry so much about being broke, unemployed, hungry ..etc... I and many here have been that way for years... go beg or steal a sandwich .. hehe ... but only steal from those that steal (the rich or churches or politicians.. etc) ;) best wishes ... if you are around DC and want some help ... msg me .. ;)
Unemployement is an Opportunity, you can now do all those things you wished you could do, but never had the time for. Every moment is prescious to the self. I guess we have to let others figure this out for themselves.
15 I's, my's, and mine's. Your worth is what you give
Absolutely right, "Your worth is what you give." Truer words were never spoken.
RoughKarma, have you looked into fast food/pizza delivery driver or other delivery jobs? edit; I'm suggesting that the OP should not give up. Stay alive. Do whatever it takes.
