The buzz from the detractors is that OWS does not have any demands. Right now we are bringing attention to the 600 pound gorilla and creating awareness and a forum for others to stop ignoring it, to stop wishing that it will behave. The demands will come. Matt Taibbi has offered 5 starting points and I agree with him.

Perhaps it is time for the GA to bring 1 demand to the table and if agreed upon, use that as a starting point. Having at least 1 demand will give the talking heads something to talk about other than spinning that we are wandering aimlessly.

I suggest repeal of the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act.

From Tiabbi's piece

1. Break up the monopolies. The so-called "Too Big to Fail" financial companies – now sometimes called by the more accurate term "Systemically Dangerous Institutions" – are a direct threat to national security. They are above the law and above market consequence, making them more dangerous and unaccountable than a thousand mafias combined. There are about 20 such firms in America, and they need to be dismantled; a good start would be to repeal the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and mandate the separation of insurance companies, investment banks and commercial banks.
