Hell go ahead vote republican. Obama will win anyway. (backed by 200million)

[-] 4 points by Idaltu (662) 13 years ago

For myself it will come down to voting for Obama as the lesser of the two evils. However, this time my vote will be for the party platform and not the individual. Obama is weak, not likely to follow through with any of his campaign promises and will function by the will of special interest. However the alternative is to vote for a Republican who will shatter the health care bill, increase welfare (tax cuts) for the wealthy, dismantle Social Security and insure there is a large poverty population to provide services for the wealthy.

[-] 4 points by LetsGetReal (1420) from Grants, NM 13 years ago

The lesser of two evils is still evil.

So long as the Dems think people will still vote for them no matter how much they betray them, it will get worse.

[-] 0 points by THG (8) from Fremont, CA 13 years ago

I am not too impressed with Obama's performance, but he fulfilled at least 2 campaign promises that matter: healthcare bill (yes, even watered down, it drives Republicans nuts) and repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. Give him at least credit he fully deserves.

[-] -3 points by OccupyTheCapitol (-15) 13 years ago

Thank you for proving my point.

This movement will fully back him as the "lesser of the two evils" - this campaign strategy has been a success.

[-] 3 points by Idaltu (662) 13 years ago

I have no idea what "this movement" will do. I am speaking for myself and have no control over the actions of others. I certainly have no control over a world wide movement, such as OWS.

True and righteous words. It's perfectly fine for politicians and talking heads to parrot what they think #OWS demands are. There is no real need for everyone in #OWS to agree on everything or even vote for the same guy.

Just as long as we remember this : no one took the streets to elect someone. What ever any party might say, their victory is not the victory of #OWS. We know the issues that unite us, and we are rooting for solutions to those issues, not for a particular party.

Party lines and loyalty are smoke and mirrors that hide a very broad consensus on the important and pressing need to fix the economic and political system. It's cool that we disagree on other things, but they are currently of lesser importance.

And he's not much lesser an evil considering his track record. Track record as president that is.

I agree and i think he'll get behind those values soon he already is partly there. He was for the fi8rst and against the second.

[-] 1 points by LetsGetReal (1420) from Grants, NM 13 years ago

Depends on what you mean by support. If he actually got those things done, yes I would vote for him.

If by support you mean, more words not backed up with actions and results, and offering another hit off the hope bong, . . . well I hope people won't fall for that again.

[-] -2 points by moediggity (646) from Houston, TX 13 years ago

he won't! Hes one of the biggest recipients of wallstreet and banker money(not to mention one of the biggest uncle toms to the federal reserve and to corporate america this country has ever seen.Never thought I'd see a bigger prostitute for those guys, and I lived thru regan, both bushes and clinton!

Oh look, a useful idiot

[-] 3 points by LLcoolit (4) 13 years ago

Its more about voting people out than in ...personally I'm an independent who beleives we should be United like in our countrys name however if progress is prevented by one of the 2 partys then how can you say the president didnt get anything done when its more about what forces are preventing any change? instead of addressing the solutions to our problems they are drawing lines in the sand causing a bad situation to become worse. Its my hope this movement will force the partys to become americans first then idealist. How far this movement will go to force actual change is a question I am interested in seeing an answer to

[-] 2 points by IloveCookies (18) from New York, NY 13 years ago

Romney was a CEO of a financial firm....yeah right like I want him President. I'll take 4 more years of Obama over him.

[-] -3 points by OccupyTheCapitol (-15) 13 years ago

Thanks for confirming that this is just a movement for Obama's re-election. Someone who basically goes against everything this movement claims they stand for.

This has all been well orchestrated and planned, so that you vote for Obama, even if you claim you don't like him because "he's better than a republican" and "claims he supports us"

Fools will be fools

[-] 6 points by entrepreneur99 (114) from Los Angeles, CA 13 years ago

Romney said "corporations are people too, my friend" which is exactly what OWS is protesting against among other things. So of course people will prefer Obama over that guy if those are the only choices. Personally I'm hoping we can float a viable 3rd party candidate, or maybe Buddy Roemer will somehow surge.

[-] 1 points by stopthat (64) 13 years ago

i think he is just misinformed. a lot of politicians are. basically just people.

[+] -5 points by OccupyTheCapitol (-15) 13 years ago

Which won't happen, and this will happen instead:

1) Obama is the biggest beneficiary of Wall Street money. He is controlled by them.

2) Obama is using this movement as a reelection campaign vehicle. Proof just came out today.

3) The vast majority of this movement will vote for Obama and help him be reelected because he is "the better alternative"

4) "Wall Street" has essentially bought 4 more years of their biggest supporter and fooled you all.

[-] 5 points by BrokenDreams (19) from Oneonta, NY 13 years ago

Maybe you should know that wall street bankers have been running to Romney even after Buffett gave his support to Obama. You have acknowledged that fact. The wallstreet deep pockets didn't like Obama's rhetoric toward them. Sounds like he's doing something right.

[-] -3 points by OccupyTheCapitol (-15) 13 years ago

You have been fooled. Go ahead and vote for Obama and give him your support.

[-] 2 points by entrepreneur99 (114) from Los Angeles, CA 13 years ago

I agree with 1, 3, and 4.

Where you're wrong is thinking it was a conspiracy from the beginning. If you would just drop that you could join us and help us keep this protest non-partisan.

[+] -4 points by OccupyTheCapitol (-15) 13 years ago

Obama extends support for protesters http://www.ft.com/cms/s/0/052226f8-f80c-11e0-a419-00144feab49a.html

Embraces term '99%' http://www.businessinsider.com/white-house-draws-closer-to-occupy-wall-street-says-obama-is-fighting-for-interests-of-the-99-2011-10

Also many members of OWS are coming out and saying they will vote for Obama, as evident by this post. Look how many votes "Give me obammmaaa :D" at the top has

You all are being used as a political strategy, and taking the bait. I'm done.

[-] 1 points by entrepreneur99 (114) from Los Angeles, CA 13 years ago

Well if you bow out and run away the moment some politician tries to use something to his advantage you won't be a very useful member of any protest. Stand strong. Reject it if you don't approve of it. I plan on doing just that.

[-] 2 points by TruePatriots (274) from San Diego, CA 13 years ago

I'll take Obama over Romney too.

[-] 1 points by Capitalist1 (2) from Chicago, IL 13 years ago

Why do so many people feel such a strong sense of entitlement?

[-] 1 points by PeoplehaveDNA (305) 13 years ago

None of the above dems and reps I rather vote for the Occupy Wall Street Party. Get cracking already!!!!

Hey, do you want us all to vote Eric Cantor for president instead?

[-] 1 points by THG (8) from Fremont, CA 13 years ago

Hey, do you want us all to vote Eric Cantor for president instead?

[-] 1 points by OccupyTheCapitol (-15) 13 years ago

Nope, go ahead and vote for Obama. Look how well the last 4 years went. Why not another 4?

[-] 1 points by Alexandraishot (15) 13 years ago

If it's between Obama and Romney i'll take Obama plz.

[-] 0 points by mvjobless (370) 13 years ago

It's not just Obama, it's congress. We have to throw the bums out of the House and Senate. Something useful would be to try to corral all the disenfranchised repugs and dems in this country through all the national occupy movements and get these people to sign a pledge to not vote for the incumbents whoever they are. Then post all these pledges on line and scare the crap out of all these politicians and then vote them the hell out of office. Of course that would mean "occupy' movements have to put up their own candidate, sort of like what the tea party did.

They are part of the 99% too. We can have libertarians spewqing ron paul ads but not moveon.org?

[-] 2 points by moediggity (646) from Houston, TX 13 years ago

then make one asking the ron paul revolution people to leave too then!

[-] -3 points by anotherone773 (734) from Carlyle, IL 13 years ago

We really need to make an official statement that OWS does not support or endorse any politicians or candidates.

I think that is something we can all agree on and we need to do it soon or we are going to start losing support.

[+] -4 points by tr289 (916) from Chicago, IL 13 years ago

The OWS movement will have many people, politicians and special interest groups attempting to hijack it. Stay strong people. This is not a political football.

Dude no way bin laden is getting a second term. Everyone is waking up to the fact that he is third generation CIA. Pieczenik is calling him out hard on why he doesn't want to fess up to his parents and grandparents being in the CIA. No duh ... everyone realizes Obama is Osama at that point.

[-] 2 points by jpbarbieux (137) from Palmetto Bay, FL 13 years ago

paranoiac eh? he is on our side just smarter than most.

[-] 1 points by marsdefIAnCe (365) 13 years ago

Your comment doesn't make any sense. You think bin Laden is on your side?

[-] 1 points by jpbarbieux (137) from Palmetto Bay, FL 13 years ago

Get you references straight. Obama is not Osama. And where did this CIA stuff come from?

[-] 1 points by marsdefIAnCe (365) 13 years ago

I cited my sources in the original post. Obviously you are not reading, so why even bother saying I am wrong?

Pastor Manning's interview of Wayne Madsen is a great place to start. It is on youtube.

Edit: my bad, thought this was another thread. Anyway, now you have a source. Enjoy.
