Forum Post: It wasn't the weather that ended the Occupy movement. It was the Black Friday sales at Wal-Mart?

Strangely, a friend of mine who manages the staffing for the largest distribution and customer service/sales company in the United States says that they have been well under their expectations.
(The company takes your complaints when you call toys -r- us, Zales, etc, and ships your custom made football jersey from S.E. Asia when you buy something from Dicks Sporting goods, or whatever.)
Perhaps, retail sales went up, but more people bought local than they expected?
Those statistics about sales, I am curious to know if they're based on the sale event for its duration, or just sales on the day of Black Friday. Keep in mind this year many retailers extended the sale to include the Thursday as well, so are they reporting sales for the sale event? If so, it would be over two days rather than one, and may not actually have been all that high.
Lies, damned lies, and statistics, as they say.
