If the market doesn't allow capitalists [the 1%] to play it can't be said to be free. It has allowed them and now they own it and it can't be said to be free. Is this really a paradox or is it a symptom of cultural schizophrenia? Is there a difference between that sort of mental illness and Orwell's “doublethink?” If not schizophrenic, are we at least paranoid and delusional to believe that free market capitalism is not an oxymoron?

Is this a joke? I don't think so. Our government and ourselves are bound by debt to those with whom the wealth is concentrated, the 1%. The economy we depend on for the material goods we need to live is controlled abstractly from Wall St. There is no freedom in the marketplace.
