We dont live in a true capitalist society. We live in a society where the government is corrupt and controlled by lobbyists. We need to change that by getting rid of this mockery of a gov and replacing it with a free market

I agree with you a hundred percent! Corporations by definition are legal entities that are created under the laws of a state (governments). People know that corporations have done many corrupt and disgusting things but they only exist because of the government. If this were a true free market there would be no monopolies, monopolies only exist because of the state, because the state is the one with the guns and therefore can enforce things. Many protesters attack corporations but corporations are only a symptom, an effect of a bigger, more powerful problem, the state. Attacking corporations is like attacking the head of a Hydra, a new one will just grow in its place. In order to take down this beast we need to attack it at its core, which is the state. I stumbled upon a really good video that addresses these protests. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTx6t3FUSkM&feature=share please do share it and remember asking the government for more regulations and power is music to their ears. I will try to post this in other forums but I can't do it alone, and btw this isn't my video I just found it.
I wish there were more people who could see the truth we must decide now how our society will be runwe must bring forth true freedom
A truly free market has never been tried on a large scale, much less with the amount of individual consumer freedoms available today. Consumers have more power than ever, thanks mostly to the internet. A viral truth campaign can ruin a shady corporation's reputability over night. Additionally, transportation is relatively inexpensive thanks to the modern automobile, so no one is virtually enslaved by the coal companies of the past. The problems that people (Michael Moore cough cough) are attributing to Capitalism are mostly due to corporate control of the federal government -- Authoritarianism. When a corporation needs to boost its profits, all they have to do is properly lobby the feds to make their products mandatory or craft regulations that will help them slam their competitors. In short, I agree with you.
While I agree that tax breaks should be eliminated from the code, unregulated markets won't create a perfectly competitive environment. It will just coalesce corporate power into cartels. Just create common-sense regulation and reform campaign financing, so you can't buy power.
But the thing is, as long as people are allowed to collect personal items (wealth) and tangible labor (money), which will be always, there will be people who try to unfairly fight their way to the top, under every political and economic system. It is part of the inherent fallen nature of people. The only solution (which is partial...) is to give people the most freedom so they can expose the people who abuse their power and put them out.
I agree, and I think this delivers that freedom. Freedom is not synonymous with deregulation, or the market. We don't have to scrap the system just because someone found a way to pay their way to power. Just disincentivize the "cheating".
ahh reading that was a breath of fresh air
Thank you sir or Maam.
I"m glad to see someone does, and it is attainable it has become clear we are headed towards a huge revolution and an evolution, we must choose the right path and that is the free market free society
"Free Market" is an abstract an unattainable ideal. There has never actually been a free market. There have always been those that would control as much as possible. The current form of this control is increasingly through corporatism. There is no real interest by these entities in free markets. Were we to replace it with another system, it too would be appropriated by those that wish to control.
The real answer is not free markets, or socialism, or communism, or any other ism. The real answer is transparency and accountability. Without the people being afforded the opportunity to examine those who rule, all manner of abuse and corruption flourishes. When those that would rule us to so with transparency, fairness becomes a part of the fabric of the social order.
Agreed 100%. Every form of society has people who try to abuse their way to the top. Life will never be fair. We just need to get tough on the abusers, the scum who abuse their power and steal from the taxpayers to line their own pockets.
I like 5 finger markets
