The IRS is a out of control organization. It takes money from its citizens, is increasingly placing agents who are heavily armed on the ground and is hiring more and more agents to take from the citizendry. While they are going after the Tea Party, they are handing out checks to illegals with false info. While they are auditing Americans, they are handing out billions to folks with TINS. The director has admitted that they cannot handle Obamacare, but it doesn't matter, it is another way to take money. If families cannot afford the TAX, they will simply get hit. This will make the poor, poorer. For some, their refund is the only thing to keep them above water
Meanwhile, everyone is screaming that its the libs or republicans...no It is a group that is in too much power. Harry Reid, the flaming idiot, pushed through legislation that allows the govt to take your passport if you owe 50,000. Well, alot of folks just lost their homes in the economic downturn. This group charges interest at will, can take your property, etc. but it does not manage its own employees who owe billions. I do pay my taxes BTW, and do not mind paying my fair share, but I do mind this criminal organization being a part of the process. It does not matter how you feel about the Tea Party, this govt group is going after Americans for their fundamental beliefs. ,Being an American who believes that everyone has a right to what they believe in, just so there is not harm, I do not want this happening to anyone The IRS has been called a terrorist organization by more than one pol. It is time to really look at this group. They have stepped, as with many government agencies over the line. They do cause fear, make there own rules and are homegrown. On January 1, they have a direct link to your medical files and your bank account. That is way over the line. Me? , I am going to cash my check for a 5.00 fee at Walmart and pay cash for as much as I can. I am paying off my last credit card, putting one in a drawer in case of an absolute emergency or travel needs and paying cash otherwise. People say who cares? You care when you post to a site like this one and all of a sudden a group like this pulls names and email accounts-they just did it Because they are who they are, we tiptoe around them. Now with Obamacare, they are big brother. What is amusing is that the IRS employees do not want to go on the exchange either.
Why Isn’t Darrell Issa In Jail?
He lied to San Diego Union Tribune that his army unit had provided security of Richard Nixon at the 1971 Pirates-Orioles World Series; Nixon never attended the series.
– He lied that he had won Inc.’s national Entrepreneur of the Year award; he won a regional prize in San Diego and was one of a few hundred nominees for the national award.
– He lied that he had received “the highest possible ratings” while in the Army; at one point he “received unsatisfactory conduct and efficiency ratings and was transferred to a supply depot.”
– In 1971, he stole Jay Bergey’s yellow Dodge Charger which was found abandoned on a highway after Bergey confronted and threatened Issa. No charges were filed.
– On March 15, 1972, Ohio police arrested Issa and his older brother, William, and charged them with stealing a red Maserati from a Cleveland showroom. The judge eventually dismissed the case.
– While the Maserati case was pending, on December 1, 1972, two police officers on patrol in the small town of Adrian, Ohio, stopped Issa driving a yellow Volkswagen the wrong way down a one-way street and found a .25-calibre Colt automatic inside a box of ammunition, along with a “military pouch” that contained “44 rounds of ammo and a tear gas gun and two rounds of ammo for it.” Issa was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon. Issa pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of possession of an unregistered gun. He paid a small fine and was sentenced to six months’ probation.
maserati– According to court records, on December 28, 1979, brother William Issa sold Darrell’s red 1976 Mercedes sedan to Smythe European Motors, in San Jose for $16,000. Soon afterward, Darrell reported the car stolen from the Monterey airport. He later told the police that he had left the title in the trunk. The brothers were indicted for grand theft. Darrell argued that he had no knowledge of William’s activities; William claimed that his brother had authorized him to sell the car, and he produced a document dated a few weeks before the robbery that gave him power of attorney over his brother’s affairs. On February 15th, with the investigation ongoing, Darrell returned to the San Jose dealership and repurchased his car, for $17,000. In August, 1980, the prosecution dropped the case.
– In January, 1981, at an intersection in Cleveland, Issa crashed a truck into a 1959 Thunderbird Classic driven by Juanita Martin, 44. According to court documents, Issa told her that he did not have time to wait for the police and left the scene. Martin ended up in the emergency room the next day with neck and back pain that she said caused “permanent damage.” A month later, she sued Issa for $20,000; they settled for an undisclosed amount.
Arson_t607– At about 2:30 am, September 7, 1982, Issa’s Quantum and Steal Stopper office went up in flames. A fire-analysis report commissioned by the St. Paul insurance company, and dated October 19, 1982, a month after the incident, concluded that the fire was “incendiary.” The report cited “suspicious burn patterns,” such as “two separate major areas of origin,” and it said, “No accidental source of heating power was located at either of these two major areas of origin.” The manner in which stacks of cardboard boxes burned was inconsistent with an accidental fire. A flammable liquid appeared to have been poured over the boxes. The blue flames seen emanating from the roof were evidence, according to the investigators, of burning carbon monoxide that is produced when an accelerant like gasoline ignites. The black smoke was also a clue. “Such black smoke normally occurs in a fire only when a hydrocarbon is burning,” the report said. When investigators tested burn damage from inside the factory, they found “the same identical mixture of flammable hydrocarbons” in four samples taken from diverse locations.
On Sept 20, 1982, in an interview with an insurance investigator, Joey Adkins, the former owner of Steal Stopper, said Issa had removed the company’s Apple II computer from the building, including “all hardware, all software, all the instruction books,” and also “the discs for accounts payable, accounts receivable, customer list, everything.” According to Adkins, Issa also transferred a copy of every design used by Steal Stopper from a filing cabinet to a fireproof box. He also said that Issa put in the box some important silk screens used in the production of circuit boards. Insurance officials noted that, less than three weeks before the fire, Issa had increased his insurance from a hundred thousand dollars to four hundred and sixty-two thousand dollars. “Quite frankly,” Adkins told the investigator, “I feel the man set the fire.”
The Ohio state fire marshal never determined the cause of the fire and no one was ever charged with a crime. According to Issa, St. Paul paid Quantum twenty-five thousand dollars, but refused to pay his claim for the Steal Stopper inventory. Issa sued St. Paul for a hundred and seventy-five thousand dollars, and the two parties eventually settled out of court for about twenty thousand dollars. http://www.calbuzz.com/2013/07/why-isnt-darrell-issa-in-jail/
Darrell Issa is terrible at his job As usual, the House Oversight Committee chairman is losing the plot on the IRS investigation By Alex Pareene
Of course, everyone in the political press knows that Issa is a publicity hound who regularly makes outrageous accusations and insinuations and rarely has any evidence supporting his more outrageous claims. Everyone in the press knows this, but conventions of objective journalism prevent them from saying as much to their audiences, and so 47 percent of Americans believe the White House directly instructed the IRS to target conservative groups.
In that respect the IRS investigations looks like a huge success. But Issa’s record is actually really terrible. He has investigated everything he can think of and nothing went anywhere. http://www.salon.com/2013/06/19/darrell_issa_is_terrible_at_his_job/
Liar, hypocrite and shameless waster of taxpayer dollars, Rep. Darrell Issa is desperate to rewrite the history of his own corrupt investigation of the manufactured IRS non-scandal. For the past several weeks, things have been looking down for the witch-hunter, since the facts (as they usually do) fly in the face of the fantasy world in which the right-wingers live.
Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) curb-checked Issa last month when in two bombshell interviews he disproved accusations that Tea Party groups were targeted by the IRS. Issa contended that the scrutiny was initiated directly by the Obama Administration, but Cummings destroyed that charge by providing transcripts stating the investigations were actually started by a conservative Republican at the IRS branch in Cleveland, OH. http://aattp.org/darrell-issa-vs-darrell-issa-lying-scumbag-hypocrite-of-the-millennium/
Oh Look Darrell Issa Is Lying Again, Part One Million Seven Hundred Sixty Thousand Seventy Two
Ugh. We thought we were done with this IRSgate bullshit, since now Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Satan’s Bunghole) has been outed as Congress’s biggest assclown, whom no one should take seriously ever again. (Haha, “ever again” assumes facts not in evidence. Law talk!) But it seems that the non-scandal is turning out to be a scandal again, except it’s because Darrell Issa seemed to manufacture the first non-scandal, because he is a shitty human being and all. This has become a giant confusing clusterfuck of awfulness, and we are getting really tired of more awful people getting involved and ruining our day-drinking. Here’s the latest.
Democrats are upset because contrary to the report prepared by the IRS Inspector General, the IRS didn’t just target Tea Party nutjobs, but also looked at progressive groups. When asked about it, IRS IG J. George Russell’s office explained that they only looked at Tea Party groups because that’s all Rep. Issa asked them to look at. THE FUCK, REALLY?
From The Hill:
A spokesman for Russell George, Treasury’s inspector general for tax administration, said they were asked by House Oversight Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) “to narrowly focus on Tea Party organizations.”
Ahhh, so Rep. Issa asked for a very narrow report only focusing on Tea Party groups, eh? It’s almost like he and J. Russell George were in cahoots to plan and plant a scandal. Previously, Yr Wonkette wondered about a crazy conspiracy, but that was mostly a joke. Now, we are not so sure… Were there nefarious shenanigans going on here?
