The way to bring Wall Street corruption to it's knees? Convince investors to pull their money out. I have several friends on 'The Street'. They agree...No liquidity, no more corruption.

Yeah go ahead and crash the stock market, and watch layoffs and unemployment run RAMPANT. Morons.

Not to mention, the only way to make more money than you do today is to invest and get leverage on your money. The poor will always be poor won't they?

You are the problem

[-] 1 points by TakeAmericaBack (39) 13 years ago

Hey old and wise, tell me since you are old and wise, how a run on banks or capital invested in the worlds largest economy wouldn't cause a global economic disaster?

Are you really old and wise? How much have you taken advantage of compounded interest over time in your long life?

[-] 1 points by TakeAmericaBack (39) 13 years ago

I am the 99% and not even close to the 1%. Your statement means nothing. In fact, here is my next statement: YOU are the problem. :-)

[-] 1 points by oldandwise (8) 13 years ago

So let me get this straight... You are saying for investors to continue to invest in a corrupt system where excessive amounts of money are spent on things we do not need by an irresponsible group of leaders is okay? That we should continue to fund this behavior? That's what it appears you are saying. So, tell me this Take America Back. Why was compounded interest created in the first place? Google the history...you drew blood first.

[-] 1 points by TakeAmericaBack (39) 13 years ago

Now that you ask...I say invest your money where you get a reasonable return for the risk you are willing to bear. If banks are evil, the govt. is corrupted by special interest, and corporations are evil, where are you putting your money? Under your mattress?!?

[-] 1 points by oldandwise (8) 13 years ago

Also, I never said banks were evil. Nor corporations. I was once greedy, selfish and would hurt anyone to increase my number. Yes, even my own family. I was so greedy, I easily justified it by donating money earned through greed. Even with compounded interest, there's someone at the bottom of the totem pole paying for that free money. Yes that' s business and a way of capitialism. However it's gotten out of control.

Seriously...I don't think anyone in business ever came out of their mom's womb with the intent of 'screwing anyone over'. It's simply a result of years of a failed system.

[-] 1 points by oldandwise (8) 13 years ago

no, i own a business and earn money the old fashioned way...it's called 'work'. When my company makes more money...guess what...i hire more people or give them raises. If my company loses money...guess what...I take a massive pay cut personally or cut back hours. Principles and profit make a company successful. Today, it's all about the benjamins. Yes I believe in compounded returns...but I have learned that compounded returns in our children's principals far supercede any currency. Thank you for the healthy debate TakeAmericaBack

[-] 1 points by TakeAmericaBack (39) 13 years ago

Anyone who has run a business knows that compounded returns has NOTHING to do with anything other than how we account for any revenue gained in a prior period that also has seem appreciation. I mean C'mon, are you really in business? There is no 'screwing' here. Compounded refers only to a delineated mechanism for account on returns on an annual basis vs. actual returns gained in a monthly or daily return cycle. Are you serious?

[-] 1 points by TakeAmericaBack (39) 13 years ago

I said, not to make a run on capitol in our economic system - did you read what I wrote? That would cause a collapse.

Compound interest isn't something somebody 'created'. It's just the math of small gains over time stated in a conglomerated number.

I want you to tell me then who created 'compounded' interest? And btw...you can have compounded interest over time without getting interest from a bank - how about I say - compounded returns over time.

[-] 1 points by sumdumpunk (29) 13 years ago

Okay, that's not right. I hope you people don't listen to this moronic comment. There are several wonderful companies who hire hundreds, if not thousands of people who depend on their companies to produce and grow. Pulling your investments hurts them more than the big-bad wallstreet wolf.

You are the problem

I agree pissed off construction worker however, to get from Point A to Point B the quickest, we need to educate investors what really occurs in wall street. Most think they 'buy a stock' and then hope it will go up. Therefore they see this movement as a small little blip. How powerful if we educated the people of the corruption so they can pull their money out BEFORE the global meltdown. Everyone wins...except Wall Street.

........LAFF'N!!

Only a CROOK would say that.. as the Investors pull their Shares out at the DOW AVG Lows... ( Selling Low).. Henchfunds and Investment Banks raise the Levels...after taking the Investors to the cleaners...

You or your 'Friends' ... either Dont trade, or are the 'Problem'.

I know what i am talking about.. do YOU? (See: my Profile) have a nice day.....

[-] 1 points by oldandwise (8) 13 years ago

Marlow: unfortunately, you are mistaken. I lossed millions to the crooks in Wall Street. Then a handful of honest 'traders' (yes there are a few left!) told me how the whole scam worked. I am not saying investors would 'come out ahead' if pulling out, they would not get hurt as bad. Ultimately WS would get slammed. Please don't be so quick to accuse or assume those on your team.

[-] 1 points by Marlow (1141) 13 years ago

Dear Man, i am not assuming you are a crook, but that the Advice is what a Crook would give you... Please understand i know from years of Independent Retail Day Trading how the whole Scam has been perpetrated...How things have changed since the Ousting of the UTR due to GS wanting a Private Trading Program in place at the NYSE , and now we are Suffering GREATLY from that COLLUSION . I too lost. Who didnt that was in the Market in 2007 to now? I do Wish you and yours the VERY Best, and hope for you health and prosperity. Marlow

me too marlow. got killed and it hurt my family. if it were a fair fight, it would be one thing. There's no more 'work hard, be rewarded accordingly' mentality left. It's all about who makes the most is the smartest...it's people who have learned to beat the system (legally) and yet not care how many people they hurt. Sad, our children will pay the ultimate price.

[-] 1 points by pissedoffconstructionworker (602) 13 years ago

No need to for the movement to convince anyone of anything--larger events in the global financial picture are going to take care of that all on their own.

True Story!

So how do you think all of those big union and other pension funds are funded? And the source of funding for state and local bonds to build schools and other such things? And the source of funding to provide capital to businesses to in order to expand and hire?

Most smaller investors have already pulled their money back. That's why market volume is so low.

Once again, about the only people for which much of what you guys talk about on here is news to, is you.
