I love how the internet has allowed us to band together, even though the media has been against us. That's why I think we as the 99% need to protect our freedom and anonymity on the internet. Right now large corporations are trying to pass bills to make isps log everything we do (protect ip) and have felony penalties for uploading any copyrighted content. You'd better not comment poorly on any game, movie, or news, because they'll be able to send you to jail now for reviewing, especially if you use clips.

It's in the our best interest to make sure that the internet isn't logged or restricted in any way. We also want to not have any loopholes that could be used to strike down people over the internet.

All these corporations want is a bigger and -wider- stick to hit us with. If you want to do something about this, here is a list of helpful sites where you can send letters to your representatives and sign petitions. Just go to the take action areas, and they'll figure out how to send emails to your representatives for you.

Please help protect our freedom!

Also, a little thing about the patriot act… It's a police state clothed in fear rhetoric. We need to get it repealed.

Thank you for supporting the foundations of our movement.

Actually this should be part of the Occupy declaration of grievances. Our right to privacy has been taken away and we need to get that right back and protected. If I'm not mistaken...everything we do online is already being monitored and logged...no?

RichardGates: I'm an internet content creator, so laws like these directly affect me.That aside, I don't think stronger copyright laws or enforcement are helpful, ethical, or beneficial to society. I hardly think that installing the equivalent of a camera in everyone's bedroom to keep everyone from secretly making free copies of 1's and 0's, which is what the mandated isp logging does, is anything other than a new form of oppressive evil. You'll think twice before posting anything controversial if you know you're being watched by big brother and your isp. Furthermore, let's not create a culture of fear and continue giving large corporations more legal tools they can use to abuse us in ANY way they wish, whether it be to silence bad reviews or critiques of their corporate agendas. Maybe they couldn't really win the arbitrary case in your video log you were infringing on some random copyright, but they could strengthen intellectual property law to the point where they could reasonably force you to either bankrupt yourself in legal fees or send you to jail after they lose the civil case.

everything you do is public anyway. you do not need someone elses material to speak under the first, it's still stealing. secondly as a web developer i can choose to ban whatever i like with or without the govs permission and since the gov does not hold me, the site owner(not of this particular site) accountable for user uploaded material, someone needs to be. my product is digital as well, why would i not protect that? but... most of the web geeks behind the curtain are like some kind of neohippies with their open source and such. i love this site because they do not censor people. after all, that is the real spirit of the web.
