Forum Post: Interesting- Several of My Postings From Yesterday Have Been Removed

I guess the administrators of this site are now censoring material they find too threatening to their cause. Two of my postings yesterday drew over 50 comments, and some excellent discussion. Pages and pages of good discussion. Why were such popular postings removed?

How do you know it got removed? I tried to find some posts and couldnt. However they may have just moved to the bottom of the list.

I don't, but they removed it.

Cut and paste the link so we can test it.

Censorship from people proposing more freedom. Yea that's orinigal, they're as bad as those they're protesting.

[-] 1 points by MikeInOhio (13) 13 years ago

Joe,

I'm sure the postings were just misplaced. They were the most popular of the day, you know. Technical error

[-] 1 points by MikeInOhio (13) 13 years ago

They can't make me leave, Joe. There is always a way!

don't forget about the greedy oil companies. Record profits for them and rising, unaffordable gas prices for us. I'm tired of being at their mercy. I wish we could turn the page on alternative energy.

Please! If you are so fed up then buy shares in the damn oil company!

This line of reasoning is simply flawed.

I checked on some of the postings we exchanged yesterday, Mike..."MSNBC-Is this just have nots against the haves?" / "What can a high school student near Philadelphia do to help this movement" / Next Step: Organize local work groups"...seems to be there.

Honestly, lots of postings from you yesterday. How on Earth can you even track them all to know some were removed?

[-] 1 points by MikeInOhio (13) 13 years ago

Thanks, bleeding! No, my best one "Why Can't Any of You Liberals Debate the Facts" seems to have been misplaced. I don't remember the name of the other one. Enjoyed chatting with you yesterday, by the way.

Oh...you mean a post(s) you started? Well that sucks! Then you have every right to question this.

Agree...good chats, fellow Ohioan.

I've enjoyed it. Thanks for the opposing opinion.

We blanket purged most posts involving mentions of Soros and other conspirational bullshit. We don't give a platform for fascism and that includes the views of demagogues like Alex Jones.

Some things may have been caught in the filter.

Your answer simply does not make any sense to me. It's not like this site is swamped with postings. How can you not know where two of the most popular postings from yesterday went? I can assure you there were no references to Soros, Jones, etc. You are being disingenuous, I believe

[-] 1 points by marsdefIAnCe (365) 13 years ago

He is calling AJ a demagogue. Don't expect it to make sense.

Organizers are freaking out at the exposure of the private fed. This is not where they wanted this thing to go :)

Keep fighting

Fight The Power!

conspiracies is what this movement is fighting... purge the conspiracies and you purge the movement. somehow, purging sounds dangerous but I'm sure it won't be the last time we hear that term.

[-] 1 points by MichaelFerrer (63) 13 years ago

Good to hear this, but the mods should really make some attempt to communicate their intentions and actions to the forum as a whole, rather than just acting invisibly / inexplicably. If news articles can be posted in a way that distinguish their posting by the moderators, so could communiques describing actions by the mods, including how any much-bemoaned problems with forum organization are being addressed.

No, there were no comments like that, other than a few people called me nasty names. There was some great dialog. I'll just resubmit when I get the time. Thanks, Mike

I remember now. I didn't have many positive things to say about the movements (first set) of demands- $20 min wage, free college for everyone, etc. I hope the second set of demands is better than the first.

[-] 1 points by anotherone773 (734) from Carlyle, IL 13 years ago

Their are no official demands you probably read someones suggested demands and mistook them as official ones.

It may of been purged due to a lot of nasty comments( not necessarily by you). We are adults here. And all that mudslinging nonsense is counterproductive( it is usually the trolls that do it go figure). Thus it may of been purged for that reason.

It is a democracy here but that doesnt mean you can run around insulting people and acting like an *.

[-] 1 points by MikeInOhio (13) 13 years ago

I agree with you. They actually put my post back up.

Thanks
