I was browsing the information in the NYCGA link and as directed to a PDF that described group dynamics in the general assemblies. See the link here:

Of particular interest is the discussion on "collective thinking". The PDF also has a description of hand gestures that might be used in an assembly in your own local area. The whole PDF is rather inspiring I'd say.
The "collective thinking" idea, in which we work together to come up with better ideas than simply "going at each other" in order to try to "win" with our previous idea is something that I think we should keep in mind when interacting with each other here on the forums and in the chat, as well of on the street of course.
This is why I really like the idea of Guy Fawkes masks. I'm serious. Collective thinking, collective people. We are all a united front.
Non violent communication and formal logic need to be added to that tool box.
Isn't "collective thinking" what put us in this economic situation in the first place?
I'm guessing you didn't read the PDF, or even my description of collective thinking?
I think what you mean already has a word: dialogue. "Collective thinking" just seems to be jargon.
That's fair, and it is certainly jargon. But in most discussions regarding politics "dialogue" is tough to find. I think reiterating the idea that people should actually listen to each other is important, as unfortunate as that need might be.
You do have a good point there. I find it very unproductive when someone is talking at people instead of to people.
